II Kings 05
Gehazi is Smitten with Leprosy
Then Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has restrained this Syrian Naaman from giving him anything of what he brought; but as the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.”
So Gehazi chased after Naaman; and when Naaman saw him running after him, he jumped down from the chariot to meet him and said to him, “Is all well?”
And he said, “All well; my master sent me, saying, ‘Behold, two young men of the sons of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’”
And Naaman said, “Please take two talents.” So he urged him, and tied up two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing. and he put them on two of his servants, who carried him before him.
When he came to the top, he took them from their hands and put them in the house. Then he sent the men away, and they went.
Then he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him, “Where have you come from, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant has not gone anywhere.”
But he said to him, “Was not my heart with you when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? Was it time for you to take silver, and to take clothing, and olive groves, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and male and female servants?”
Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from before him a leper as white as snow.
