4 Chamou pois Josué os doze homens, que escolhera dos filhos de Israel: de cada tribo um homem;
5 E disse-lhes Josué: Passai diante da arca do Senhor vosso Deus, ao meio do Jordão; e levante cada um uma pedra sobre o seu ombro, segundo o número das tribos dos filhos de Israel;
6 Para que isto seja por sinal entre vós; e quando vossos filhos no futuro perguntarem, dizendo: Que vos significam estas pedras?

4 But that woman took both these men, and hid them, and said, It is true, that men came to me, but I did not know where they were from.
5 And it came to pass, when the door was shut, and it was dark, and the men went out. I do not know where those men went: go quickly after them, for you will reach them.
6 But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them among the reeds of linen, which she had set in order upon the roof.
7 And those men went after them by the way of Jordan unto the fords: and the gates were shut, and those that went after them went out.
8 And before they slept she went up to them on the roof;
9 And he said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you this land, and the fear of you is come upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the earth are faint before you.
10 For we have heard that the Lord dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when ye came out of Egypt, and what ye did unto the kings of the Amorites, to Sihon and to Og, which were beyond Jordan, which ye have destroyed.
11 And when he had heard this, our heart fainted, and there is no soul in him, because of your presence: for the LORD your God is God above in heaven and beneath the earth.
12 Now therefore, swear to me, I pray you, by the Lord, for I have done you kindness, that ye also will kindness to my father's house, and give me a sure sign.
13 That ye shall give life to my father and my mother, and to my brethren and sisters, with all that they have, and that ye shall deliver our lives from death.
14 Then those men answered and said unto him, Our life shall answer to your soul to the point of death, unless ye denounce this thing of ours, and it shall come to pass, that, as the Lord gives us this land, we will use kindness and faithfulness with thee.
15 And she brought them down by a rope through the window, because her house was upon the city wall, and she dwelled upon the wall.
16 And he said unto them, Go ye into the mount, that perhaps the persecutors may not find you, and hide you there three days, until the persecutors return, and then go your way.
17 And those men said, We shall be released from thy oath, which thou hast sworn unto us.
18 Behold, as we come to earth, you shall bind this cord of scarlet thread to the window from which you brought us down. And thou shalt gather at home with thee thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's family.
19 For whoever goes out of the door of your house shall his blood be on his head, and we shall be without blame. But whoever is with you at home, may his blood be on our head, if he lay hands on it.
20 But if you denounce our business, we will be released from your oath, which you have sworn to us.
21 And she said, According to your words, so be it. Then he sent them away; and they were gone; and she tied the scarlet cord to the window.
22 So they went and came to the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers returned, because the pursuers sought them all the way, but found them not.
23 So these two men returned, and came down from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all that had happened to them.
24 And they said unto Joshua, Surely the Lord hath given all this land into our hands, for even the inhabitants are swooned before us.

3 Pelo que enviou o rei de Jericó a Raabe, dizendo: Tira fora os homens que vieram a ti, e entraram na tua casa, porque vieram espiar toda a terra.
4 Porém aquela mulher tomou a ambos aqueles homens, e os escondeu, e disse: É verdade que vieram homens a mim, porém eu não sabia de onde eram.
5 E aconteceu que, havendo-se de fechar a porta, sendo já escuro, aqueles homens saíram; Não sei para onde aqueles homens se foram: ide após eles depressa, porque vós os alcançareis.
6 Porém ela os tinha feito subir ao telhado, e os tinha escondido entre as canas do linho, que pusera em ordem sobre o telhado.
7 E foram aqueles homens após deles, pelo caminho do Jordão, até os vaus: e fechou-se as portas, havendo saído os que iam após deles.
8 E, antes que eles dormissem, ela subiu a eles sobre o telhado;
9 E disse aos homens: Bem sei que o Senhor vos deu esta terra, e que o pavor de vós caiu sobre nós, e que todos os moradores da terra estão desmaiados diante de vós.
10 Porque temos ouvido que o Senhor secou as águas do Mar Vermelho diante de vós, quando saíeis do Egito, e o que fizestes aos reis dos amorreus, a Seom e a Ogue, que estavam dalém do Jordão, os quais destruístes.
11 Ouvindo isto, desmaiou o nosso coração, e em ninguém mais há ânimo algum, por causa da vossa presença: porque o Senhor vosso Deus é Deus em cima nos céus e em baixo da terra.
12 Agora pois, jurai-me, vos peço, pelo Senhor, pois que vos fiz beneficiência, que vós também fareis beneficiência à casa de meu pai, e dai-me um sinal certo.
13 De que dareis a vida a meu pai e a minha mãe, como também a meus irmãos e a minhas irmãs, com tudo o que têm, e de que livrareis as nossas vidas da morte.
14 Então aqueles homens responderam-lhe: A nossa vida responderá pela vossa até ao ponto de morrer, se não denunciardes este nosso negócio, e será pois que, dando-nos o Senhor esta terra, usaremos contigo de beneficiência e de fidelidade.
15 Ela então os fez descer por uma corda pela janela, porquanto sua casa estava sobre o muro da cidade, e ela morava sobre o muro.
16 E disse-lhes: Ide-vos ao monte, para que, porventura, vos não encontrem os perseguidores, e escondei-vos lá três dias, até que voltem os perseguidores, e depois ide pelo vosso caminho.
17 E disseram aqueles homens: Desobrigados seremos deste teu juramento que nos fizeste jurar.
18 Eis que, vindo nós à terra, atarás este cordão de fio de escarlata à janela por onde nos fizeste descer; e recolherás em casa contigo a teu pai, e a tua mãe, e a teus irmãos e a toda a família de teu pai.
19 Será pois que qualquer que sair fora da porta da tua casa o seu sangue será sobre a sua cabeça, e nós seremos sem culpa; mas qualquer que estiver contigo em casa o seu sangue seja sobre a nossa cabeça, se nele se puser mão.
20 Porém, se tu denunciares este nosso negócio, seremos desobrigados do teu juramento, que nos fizeste jurar.
21 E ela disse: Conforme ás vossas palavras, assim seja. Então os despediu; e eles se foram; e ela atou o cordão de escarlata à janela.
22 Foram-se pois, e chegaram ao monte, e ficaram ali três dias, até que voltaram os perseguidores, porque os perseguidores os buscaram por todo o caminho, porém não os acharam.
23 Assim aqueles dois homens voltaram, e desceram do monte, e passaram e vieram a Josué, filho de Num, e contaram-lhe tudo quanto lhes acontecera;
24 E disseram a Josué: Certamente o Senhor tem dado toda esta terra nas nossas mãos, pois até os moradores estão desmaiados diante de nós.

13 Remember the word that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God gives you rest, and gives you this land.
14 Your wives, your boys, and your cattle, stay in the land which Moses gave you from this side of the Jordan. but you shall pass over armed before your brethren, all mighty and valiant, and assist them;
15 Until the Lord gives rest to your brethren, as to you, and they also possess the land which the Lord your God gives them; Then shall ye return to the land of your inheritance, and ye shall possess that which the servant of Jehovah gave unto you from this side of Jordan to the rising of the sun.
16 And they answered Joshua, saying, Whatsoever thou hast commanded us, we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17 As we have heard Moses in all things, so will we hear you: only let the Lord your God be with you, as he was with Moses.

14 Vossas mulheres, vossos meninos e vosso gado fiquem na terra que Moisés vos deu desta banda do Jordão; porém vós passareis armados na frente de vossos irmãos, todos os valentes e valorosos, e ajudá-los-eis;

18 Todo o homem, que for rebelde à tua boca, e não ouvir as tuas palavras em tudo quanto lhe mandares, morrerá: tão-somente esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo.

3 Every place I tread on the sole of your foot I have given, as I said unto Moses.
4 From the wilderness and from this Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrades, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the setting sun, shall be your border.
5 No one shall stand before you all the days of your life: As I went with Moses, so will I be with you: I will not leave you nor forsake you.
6 Be strong, and be of good cheer: for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 Only do your best, and be very courageous, that you should be careful to do according to all the law which my servant Moses commanded you. do not turn from it, to the right or to the left, that you may prudently lead you wherever you go.
8 Let not the book of this law depart from thy mouth; but meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; For then shalt thou prosper thy way, and then shalt thou lead thyself.

5 Nenhum se susterá diante de ti, todos os dias da tua vida: Como fui com Moisés, assim serei contigo: não te deixarei nem te desampararei.
6 Esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo: porque tu farás a este povo herdar a terra que jurei a seus pais lhes daria.
7 Tão somente esforça-te e tem mui bom ânimo, para teres o cuidado de fazer conforme a toda a lei que meu servo Moisés te ordenou; dela não te desvies, nem para a direita nem para a esquerda, para que prudentemente te conduzas por onde quer que andares.
8 Não se aparte da tua boca o livro desta lei; antes medita nele dia e noite, para que tenhas cuidado de fazer conforme a tudo quanto nele está escrito; porque então farás prospera o teu caminho, e então prudentemente te conduzirás.

39 See now that I, I am he, and no God with me; I kill, and I make life, I hurt, and I heal; and there is none to escape from my hand.
40 For I will lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live forever.
41 If I sharpen my shining sword, and take my hand from judgment, I will cause vengeance to be turned upon my adversaries, and ye will reward my haters.
42 I will make my arrows of blood drunk, and my sword shall eat flesh: from the blood of the dead and the prisoners from the head shall there be vengeance on the enemy.

47 For this word is not vain unto you, but your life; and by the same word ye shall prolong the days in the land which ye pass by over Jordan, to possess.
48 And Jehovah spake unto Moses that day, saying,
49 Go up to the hill of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and see the land of Canaan, which I will give unto the children of Israel for a possession.
50 And die on the mountain, to which thou shalt go up; and gather yourselves unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and gathered himself unto his peoples.
51 Because you have transgressed against me in the midst of the children of Israel in the waters of contention in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin; for you have not sanctified me among the children of Israel.
52 Therefore you shall see the land before you, but you shall not enter it into the land which I will give to the children of Israel.

49 Sobe ao monte de Abarim, ao monte Nebo, que está na terra de Moabe, defronte de Jericó, e vê a terra de Canaã, que darei aos filhos de Israel por possessão.
50 E morre no monte, ao qual subirás; e recolhe-te aos teus povos, como Aarão teu irmão morreu no monte de Hor, e se recolheu aos seus povos.
51 Porquanto prevaricastes contra mim no meio dos filhos de Israel, nas águas da contenção em Cades, no deserto de Zim; pois não me santificastes no meio dos filhos de Israel.
52 Pelo que verás a terra diante de ti, porém não entrarás nela, na terra que darei aos filhos de Israel.

1 Inclinai os ouvidos, ó céus, e falarei: e ouça a terra as palavras da minha boca.
2 Goteje a minha doutrina como a chuva, destile o meu dito como o orvalho, como chuvisco sobre a erva e como gotas de água sobre a relva.
3 Porque apregoarei o nome do Senhor: dai grandeza a nosso Deus.
4 Ele é a rocha, cuja obra é perfeita, porque todos os seus caminhos são: Deus é a verdade e não há nele injustiça; justo e reto é.
5 Corromperam-se contra ele, seus filhos eles não são, a sua mancha é deles; geração perversa e torcida é.
6 Recompensais assim ao Senhor, povo louco e ignorante? não é ele teu Pai, que te adquiriu, te fez e te estabeleceu?
7 Lembra-te dos dias da antigüidade, atenta para os anos de muitas gerações: pergunta a teu pai, e ele te informará, aos teus anciãos, e eles to dirão.
8 Quando o Altíssimo distribuía as heranças às nações, quando dividia os filhos de Adão uns dos outros, pôs os termos dos povos, conforme ao número dos filhos de Israel.
9 Porque a poção do Senhor é o seu povo; Jacó é a corda da sua herança.
10 Achou-o na terra do deserto, e num ermo solitário cheio de uivos, trouxe-o ao redor, instruiu-o, guardou-o como a menina do seu olho.
11 Como a águia desperta o seu ninho, se move sobre os seus filhos, estende as suas asas, toma-os e os leva sobre as suas asas,
12 Assim só o Senhor o guiou: e não havia com ele Deus estranho.
13 Ele o fez cavalgar sobre as suas alturas da terra, e comeu as novidades do campo, e o fez chupar mel da rocha e azeite da dura pederneira.
14 Manteiga de vaca, e leite do rebanho, com a gordura dos cordeiros e dos carneiros que pastam em Basã e dos bodes, com gorduras dos rins do trigo; e bebeste o sangue das uvas, o vinho puro.
15 E, engordando-se Jesurum, deu coices; engordaste-te, engrossaste-te, e de gordura te cobriste: e deixou a Deus, que o fez, e desprezou a Rocha da sua salvação.
16 Com deuses estranho o provocaram a zelos; com abominações o irritaram.
17 Sacrifícios ofereceram aos diabos não a Deus, aos deuses que não conheceram, novos deuses que vieram há pouco, dos quais não se estremeceram vossos pais.
18 Esqueceste-te da Rocha que te gerou: e em esquecimento puseste o Deus que te formou.
19 O que vendo o Senhor, os desprezou, provocando à ira contra seus filhos e suas filhas;
20 E disse: Esconderei o meu rosto deles, verei qual será o seu fim; porque são geração de perversidade, filhos em quem não há lealdade.
21 A zelos me provocaram com aquilo que não é Deus; com as suas vaidades me provocaram à ira; portanto eu os provocarei a zelos com os que não são povo; com nação louca os despertarei à ira.
22 Porque um fogo se acendeu na minha ira, e arderá até ao mais profundo do inferno, e consumirá a terra com a sua novidade, e abrasará os fundamentos dos montes.
23 Males amontoarei sobre eles; as minhas setas esgotarei contra eles.
24 Exaustos serão de fome, comidos de carbúnculo e de peste amarga: e entre eles enviarei dentes de feras, com ardente peçonha de serpente do pó.
25 Por fora devastará a espada, e por dentro o pavor: ao mancebo, juntamente com a virgem, assim à criança de mama, como ao homem de cãs.
26 Eu disse: por todos os cantos os espalharia, faria cessar a sua memória dentre os homens,
27 Se eu não receara a ira do inimigo, para que os seus adversários o não estranhem, e para que não digam: A nossa mão está alta; o Senhor não fez tudo isto.
28 Porque são gente falta de conselhos, e neles não há entendimento.
29 Oxalá eles fossem sábios! que isto entendessem, e atentassem para o seu fim!
30 Como pode ser que um só perseguisse mil, e dois fizessem fugir dez mil, se a sua Rocha os não vendera, e o Senhor os não entregara?
31 Porque a sua rocha não é como a nossa Rocha; sendo até os nossos inimigos juízes disto.
32 Porque a sua vinha é a vinha de Sodoma e dos campos de Gomorra: as suas uvas são uvas de fel, cachos amargosos têm.
33 O seu vinho é ardente veneno de dragões, e peçonha cruel de víboras.
34 Não está isto encerrado comigo? selado nos meus tesouros?
35 Minha é a vingança e a recompensa, ao tem po que resvalar o seu pé: porque o dia da sua ruína está próximo, e as coisas que lhes hão de suceder, se apressam a chegar.
36 Porque o Senhor fará justiça ao seu povo, e se arrependerá pelos seus servos, quando vir que o seu poder se foi, e não há fechado nem desamparado.
37 Então dirá: Onde estão os seus deuses? a rocha em que confiavam,
38 De cujos sacrifícios comiam a gordura, e de cujas libações bebiam o vinho? levantem-se, e vos ajudem, para que haja para vós escondedouro.
39 Vede agora que eu, eu o sou, e mais nenhum Deus comigo; eu mato, e eu faço viver, eu firo, e eu saro; e ninguém há que escape da minha mão.
40 Porque levantarei a minha mão aos céus, e direi: Eu vivo para sempre.
41 Se eu afiar a minha espada reluzente, e travar do juízo a minha mão, farei tornar a vingança sobre os meus adversários, e recompensareis aos meus aborrecedores.
42 Embriagarei as minhas setas de sangue, e a minha espada comerá carne: do sangue dos mortos e dos prisioneiros, desde a cabeça, haverá vinganças do inimigo.
43 Jubilai, ó nações, com o seu povo, porque vingará o sangue dos seus servos, e sobre os seus adversários fará tornar a vingança, e terá misericórdia da sua terra e do seu povo.
44 E veio Moisés, e falou todas as palavras deste cântico aos ouvidos do povo, ele e Oséias, filho de Num.
45 E, acabando Moisés de falar todas estas palavras a todo o Israel,
46 Disse-lhes: Aplicai o vosso coração a todas as palavras que hoje testifico entre vós, para que as recomendeis a vossos filhos, para que tenham cuidado de cumprir todas as palavras desta lei.
47 Porque esta palavra não vos é vã, antes é a vossa vida; e por esta mesma palavra prolongareis os dias na terra a qual, passando o Jordão, ides a possuir.
48 Depois falou o Senhor a Moisés, naquele mesmo dia, dizendo:
