20 And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud;

2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan, according to their terms.

51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye have passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52 You shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you, and you shall destroy all their images; you shall also destroy all their molten images, and destroy all their high places;
53 And ye shall take the land for a possession, and dwell therein: because I have given you this land to possess it.
54 And ye shall inherit the land after your families; You will multiply the inheritance to the many, and gradually the inheritance will diminish: where the luck goes out to someone, there it will have it: according to the tribes of your fathers you will take the inheritance.
55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those who forsake theirs will be for thorns in your eyes and for prongs on your sides, and they will tighten you up in the land where you live.

21 And every one of you armed shall pass over Jordan before Jehovah, till he hath cast out his enemies from before him:
22 And let the earth be subjugated before the LORD; then you shall return, and you shall be excused before the LORD and before Israel: and this land shall be for a possession before the LORD:
23 And if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: but ye shall feel your sin when he shall find you.
24 Build ye cities for your children, and feed yourselves with your flocks; and do what is left of your mouth.
25 And the children of Gad said, and the children of Reuben unto Moses, saying, As my lord commandeth, so shall thy servants do.
26 Our children, and our wives, and our cattle, and all our cattle, shall be in the cities of Gilead.
27 But your servants shall pass away, every man armed to fight for war, before the LORD, as my lord hath said.
28 And Moses gave orders to Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel.
29 And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben, pass through the Jordan with you, every man that is set before the LORD for war; and the land shall be subjugated before you, ye shall give them the land of Gilead in possession;
30 But if they do not pass by armed with you, then they shall set yourselves as possessors among you in the land of Canaan.
31 And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, What the LORD hath spoken unto thy servants, this we will do.

1 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had much cattle in a great multitude; and they saw the land of Jahzer, and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place of cattle.

8 So your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see this land.
9 And they came to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, and the heart of the children of Israel, that they would not come into the land which the LORD had spoken unto them.
10 And the anger of Jehovah was kindled that same day, and he swore, saying,
11 Surely the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall not see the land which I sware unto Abram, to Isaac, and to Jacob. because they have not persevered in following me;
12 Except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, because they persevered in following the Lord.
13 And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and made them to wander, until the whole generation was consumed, which had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
14 And behold, ye multitudes of sinful men have risen up in the place of your fathers, to add still more to the fierce anger of the LORD against Israel.
15 If you turn away from following him, he will also leave you again in the wilderness, and you will destroy all this people.
16 And they came to him, and said, We will build corrals here for our cattle, and cities for our children;
17 But we will arm ourselves, and make haste before the house of Israel, until we have brought them into their place; and our children shall remain in the strong cities for the inhabitants of the land.

13 Assim se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra Israel, e fê-los andar errantes até que se consumiu toda aquela geração, que fizera mal aos olhos do Senhor.
14 E eis que vós, uma multidão de homens pecadores, vos levantastes em lugar de vossos pais para ainda mais acrescentar o ardor da ira do Senhor contra Israel.
15 Se vós vos virardes de segui-lo, também ele os deixará de novo no deserto, e destruireis a todo este povo.
16 Então chegaram a ele, e disseram: Edificaremos currais aqui para o nosso gado, e cidades para as nossas crianças;
17 Porém nós nos armaremos, apressando-nos diante dos de Israel, até que os levemos ao seu lugar: e ficarão as nossas crianças nas cidades fortes por causa dos moradores da terra.
18 Não voltaremos para nossas casas até que os filhos de Israel estejam de posse, cada um da sua herança.
19 Porque não herdaremos com eles dalém do Jordão, nem mais adiante; porquanto nós já teremos a nossa herança daquém do Jordão ao oriente.
20 Então moisés lhes disse: Se isto fizerdes assim, se vos armardes para a guerra perante o Senhor;
21 E cada um de vós armado passar o Jordão perante o Senhor, até que haja lançado fora os seus inimigos de diante dele:
22 E a terra esteja subjulgada perante o Senhor; então voltareis depois, e ficareis desculpado perante o Senhor e perante Israel: e esta terra vos será por possessão perante o Senhor:
23 E se não fizerdes assim, eis que pecastes contra o Senhor: porém sentireis o vosso pecado, quando vos achar.
24 Edificai vós cidades para as vossas crianças, e currais para as vossas ovelhas; e fazei o que saiu de vossa boca.

A purificação dos soldados

6 And Moses sent them into the war of every tribe, and they and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, and the war with the holy vessels, and with the trumpets of the noise in his hand.
7 And they fought against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses: and they slew every man.
8 And the kings of the Midianites slew, besides those that were slain, the Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: and Balaam the son of Beor slew the sword.

11 And her husband heard him, and held his peace, and did not forbid it; and all the obligation with which he bound his soul will be valuable.
12 But if her husband annulled them in the day when he heard them, whatsoever went out of his lips, whether of his vows or of his soul's will, shall not be of any value: his husband hath nullified them, and the Lord will forgive them.
13 All the vow, and all the oath of obligation, to humble the soul her husband, shall confirm it, or annul it.
14 And if her husband day by day shall be silent to her, then she shall confirm all her vows and all her oblations, which are upon her: she is sure of them, because she was silent to her in the day that she heard him.
15 But if he annul all of them after he has heard them, then he shall bear their iniquity.
16 These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses between the husband and his wife; between father and his daughter, in his youth, in his father's house.

13 Todo o voto, e todo o juramento de obrigação, para humilhar a alma seu marido, o confirmará, ou anulará.

21 E se porá perante Eleazar, o sacerdote, o qual por ele consultará, segundo o juízo de Urim, perante o Senhor: conforme o seu dito sairão, e conforme o seu dito entrarão, ele e todos os filhos de Israel com ele, e toda a congregação.
22 E fez Moisés como o Senhor lhe ordenará: porque tomou a Josué, e apresentou-o perante Eleazar, o sacerdote, e perante toda a congregação:
23 E sobre ele pôs as suas mãos, e lhe deu mandamentos, como o Senhor ordenara pela mão de Moisés.
