19 और उस ने भीतरी भवन में एक पवित्र वचन तैयार किया, कि वहां यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक धरूं।
20 और भीतरी पवित्रस्थान बीस हाथ लम्बा और बीस हाथ ऊंचा या, और उस ने उसको चोखे सोने से मढ़वाया, और वेदी को देवदार से मढ़वाया।

1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year, after the children of Israel had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv (this is the second month), that he began to build the house of the LORD .
2 And the house which king Solomon built unto the LORD was sixty cubits long, and twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.
3 And the portico before the temple of the house was twenty cubits long, according to the width of the house, and ten cubits wide before the house.
4 And he made the house windows with narrow views.
5 He built chambers round the wall of the house, round the walls of the house, both the temple and the oracle: and so he made side chambers round about.
6 The lower chamber was five cubits wide, the middle one six cubits wide, and the third seven cubits wide; for around the outside of the house he had made fences, so that they would not stop against the walls of the house.
7 The house was built with prepared stones, as they brought them; so that neither hammer nor ax nor any other instrument of iron was heard in the house when they were building it.
8 The door of the chamber in the middle was on the right side of the house, and by snails went up to the middle one, and from the middle one to the third.
9 So he built the house, and perfected it: and overlaid the house with planks and planks of cedar.
10 He also built chambers for the whole house, five cubits high, and barred them to the house with cedar wood.
11 Then came the word of the LORD to Solomon, saying,
12 As for this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and do my judgments, and keep all my commandments, walking in them, then you will confirm my word to you, which I spoke to David your father:
13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and I will not forsake my people Israel.
14 So Solomon built the house and perfected it.
15 He also covered the inside walls of the house with cedar boards; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he covered everything with wood inside, and he covered the floor of the house with beech planks.
16 He built twenty cubits of cedar boards on the sides of the house, from the floor to the walls: and he built them inside for the oracle, for the Holy of Holies.
17 So the house was forty cubits long, that is, the inner temple.
18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with open flower buds: all was cedar, not a stone was seen.
19 And within the inner house he prepared the oracle, to place there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
20 And the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, and twenty cubits high: and he overlaid it with pure gold: he also overlaid the altar with cedar.
21 And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold: and with chains of gold he put a veil before the oracle, and overlaid it with gold.
22 So he overlaid the whole house with gold, until the whole house was finished: also the whole altar that was before the oracle he overlaid with gold.
23 And in the oracle he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
24 And one wing of a cherub was five cubits, and the other wing of a cherub was five cubits; ten cubits were from the end of one of its wings to the end of the other of its wings.
25 So was the other cherub ten cubits: both cherubim were of the same measure and of the same height.
26 The height of one cherub is ten cubits, and likewise that of the other cherub.
27 And he put these cherubim in the midst of the inner house; and the cherubim stretched out their wings, so that the wing of one cherubim touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherubim touched the other wall, and their wings in the middle of the house touched one another.
28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29 And he engraved all the walls of the house round about with carvings and carvings of cherubim, and palm trees, and open flowers, within and without.
30 He also overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inside and out.
31 And at the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive wood: the lintel with the posts made a fifth part of the wall.
32 Also the two doors were of oilwood; and he engraved on them engravings of cherubim, and of palm trees, and of open flowers, which he overlaid with gold: he also spread gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm trees.
33 And so he made posts for the door of the temple of oilwood, from the fourth part of the wall.
34 And the two doors were of beech wood: and the two leaves of one door were hinges, just as the two carved leaves of the other doors were also hinges.
35 And he carved them with cherubim, and palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold accommodated to work.
36 He also built the inner courtyard with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams.
37 In the fourth year he laid the foundation of the house of the LORD, in the month of Ziv.
38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bil, which is the eighth month, this house was finished, with all its parts, and with all that suited it: and he built it in seven years.

1 E sucedeu que no ano de quatrocentos e oitenta, depois da saírem os filhos de Israel do Egito, no ano quarto do reinado de Salomão sobre Israel, no mês de Zive ( este é o mês segundo ), começou a edificar a casa do Senhor.

2 E a casa que o rei Salomão edificou ao Senhor era de sessenta côvados de comprimento, e de vinte côvados de largura, e de trinta côvados de altura.

3 E o pórtico diante do templo da casa era de vinte côvados de comprimento, segundo a largura da casa, e de dez côvados de largura diante da casa.

4 E fez à casa janelas de vista estreita.

5 Edificou em redor da parede da casa câmaras, em redor das paredes da casa, tanto do templo como do oráculo: e assim lhe fez câmaras colaterais em redor.

6 A câmara de baixo era de cinco côvados de largura, e a do meio de seis côvados de largura, e a terceira de sete côvados de largura; porque pela parte de fora da casa em redor fizera encostos, para não travarem das paredes da casa.

7 Edificaram-se a casa com pedras preparadas, como as traziam se edificava; de maneira que nem martelo, nem machado, nem nenhum outro instrumento de ferro se ouviu na casa quando a edificavam.

8 A porta da câmara no meio estava à banda direita da casa, e por caracóis se subia à do meio, e da do meio à terceira.

9 Assim pois edificou a casa, e a aperfeiçoou: e cobriu a casa com pranchões e tabuados de cedro.

10 Também edificou as câmaras a toda a casa de cinco côvados de altura, e as travou com a casa com madeira de cedro.

11 Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Salomão dizendo:

12 Quanto a esta casa que tu edificas, se andares nos meus estatutos, e fizeres os meus juízos, e guardares todos os meus mandamentos, andando neles, confirmareis para contigo a minha palavra, a qual falei a Davi, teu pai:

13 E habitarei no meio dos filhos de Israel, e não desampararei o meu povo de Israel.

14 Assim edificou Salomão aquela casa, e a aperfeiçoou.

15 Também cobriu as paredes da casa por dentro com tábuas de cedro; desde o soalho da casa até o teto tudo cobriu com madeira por dentro, e cobriu o soalho da casa com tábuas de faia.

16 Edificou mais vinte côvados de tábuas de cedro nos lados da casa, desde o soalho até às paredes: e por dentro lhas edificou para o oráculo, para o Santo dos Santos.

17 Era pois a casa de quarenta côvados, a saber: o templo interior.

18 E o cedro da casa por dentro era lavrado de botões de flores abertas: tudo era cedro, pedra nenhuma se via.

19 E por dentro da casa interior preparou o oráculo, para pôr ali a arca do concerto do Senhor.

20 E o oráculo no interior era de vinte côvados de comprimento, e de vinte côvados de altura: e o cobriu de ouro puro: também cobriu de cedro o altar.

21 E cobriu Salomão a casa por dentro de ouro puro: e com cadeias de ouro pôs um véu diante do oráculo, e o cobriu com ouro.

22 Assim toda a casa cobriu de ouro, até acabar toda a casa: também todo o altar que estava diante do oráculo cobriu de ouro.

23 E no oráculo fez dois querubins de madeira de oliveira, cada um da altura de dez côvados.

24 E uma asa de um querubim era de cinco côvados, e a outra asa do querubim de outro cinco côvados; dez côvados havia desde a extremidade de uma das suas asas até à extremidade da outra das suas asas.

25 Assim era também de dez côvados o outro querubim: ambos os querubins eram de uma mesma medida e de um mesmo talhe.

26 A altura de um querubim de dez côvados, e assim a do outro querubim.

27 E pôs a estes querubins no meio da casa de dentro; e os querubins estendiam as asas, de maneira que a asa de um tocava na parede, e a asa do outro querubim tocava na outra parede, e as suas asas no meio da casa tocavam uma na outra.

28 E cobriu de ouro os querubins.

29 E todas as paredes da casa em redor lavrou de esculturas e de entalhes de querubins, e de palmas e de flores abertas, por dentro e por fora.

30 Também cobriu de ouro o soalho da casa, por dentro e por fora.

31 E à entrada do oráculo fez portas de madeira de oliveira: a verga com as ombreiras faziam a quinta parte da parede.

32 Também as duas portas eram da madeira olearia; e lavrou nelas entalhes de querubins, e de palmas, e de flores abertas, os quais cobriu de ouro: também estendeu ouro sobre os querubins e sobre as palmas.

33 E assim fez à porta do templo ombreiras da madeira olearia, da quarta parte da parede.

34 E eram as duas portas de madeira de faia: e as duas folhas duma porta eram dobradiças, assim como eram também dobradiças as duas folhas entalhadas das outras portas.

35 E as lavrou de querubins, e de palmas, e de flores abertas, e as cobriu de ouro acomodado ao lavor.

36 Também edificou o pátio interior de três ordens de pedras lavradas e duma ordem de vigas de cedro.

37 No ano quarto se pôs o fundamento da casa do Senhor, no mês de Zive.

38 E no ano undécimo, no mês de Bil, que é o mês oitavo, se acabou esta casa com todas suas dependências, e com tudo o que lhe convinha: e a edificou em sete anos.

14 And he sent them into Lebanon every month ten thousand in turn: one month they were in Lebanon, and two months each in his house: and Adoniram was over the company.
15 Solomon also had seventy thousand who carried loads, and eighty thousand who cut in the mountains.
16 Besides the chief of Solomon's officers, who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who gave orders to the people who did the work.
17 And the king commanded that they bring great stones and precious stones, hewn stones, to found the house.

13 E o rei Salomão fez subir leva de gente dentre todo o Israel: e foi a leva de gente trinta mil homens.

14 E os enviou ao Líbano, cada mês dez mil por sua vez: um mês estavam no Líbano, e dois meses cada um em sua casa: e Adonirão estava sobre a leva de gente.

15 Tinha também Salomão setenta mil que levavam as cargas, e oitenta mil que cortavam nas montanhas.

16 Afora os chefes dos oficiais de Salomão, os quais estavam sobre aquela obra, três mil e trezentos, que davam as ordens ao povo que fazia aquela obra.

17 E mandou o rei que trouxessem pedras grandes e pedras preciosas, pedras lavradas, para fundarem a casa.

18 E as lavravam os edificadores de Hirão e os gibitas: e preparavam a madeira e as pedras para edificar a casa.

1 And Hiram king of Tire sent his servants to Solomon (for he had heard that they had anointed Solomon king in his father's stead), because Hiram had always loved David.
2 Then Solomon sent to Hiram saying,
3 Thou knowest that David my father was not able to build a house to the name of the Lord God, because of the war with which they besieged him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.
4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side: there is no adversary, nor any evil encounter.
5 And, behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will put in your place on your throne, he will build a house for my name.
6 Now therefore command that they cut down cedars for me out of Lebanon, and my servants will be with your servants, and I will give you the wages of your servants, according to all that you say; because you know well that among us there is no one that knows how to cut wood like the Sidonians.
7 And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he was exceedingly glad, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given David a wise son over this great people.
8 And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard what you commanded me to say. I will do all your will concerning the cedars and concerning the beeches.
9 My servants will take them from Lebanon to the sea, and I will have them carried on rafts across the sea to the place you designate for me, and there I will untie them; and thou shalt take them; thou shalt also do my will, giving sustenance to my house.
10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and beech trees, according to all his desire.
11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat to feed his household, and twenty cors of beaten oil: this Solomon gave to Hiram from year to year.
12 So the Lord gave Solomon wisdom, as he had spoken to him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they made a covenant.

3 Bem sabes tu que Davi, meu pai, não pôde edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor Deus, por causa da guerra com que o cercaram, até que o Senhor os pôs debaixo das plantas dos pés.

4 Porém agora o Senhor meu Deus me tem dado descanso de todos os lados: adversário não há, nem algum mau encontro.

5 E eis que eu intento edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor meu Deus, como falou o Senhor a Davi, meu pai, dizendo: Teu filho, que porei em teu lugar no teu trono, ele edificará uma casa ao meu nome.

6 Dá ordem pois agora que do Líbano me cortem cedros, e os meus servos estarão com os teus servos, e eu te darei a soldada dos teus servos, conforme a tudo o que disseres; porque bem sabes tu que entre nós ninguém há que saiba cortar madeira como os sidônios.

7 E aconteceu que, ouvindo Hirão as palavras de Salomão, muito se alegrou, e disse: Bendito seja hoje o Senhor, que deu a Davi um filho sábio sobre este tão grande povo.

8 E enviou Hirão a Salomão, dizendo: Ouvi o que me mandaste dizer. Eu farei toda a tua vontade acerca dos cedros e acerca das faias.

9 Os meus servos os levarão desde o Líbano até ao mar, e eu os farei conduzir em jangadas pelo mar até ao lugar que me designares, e ali os desamarrarei; e tu os tomarás; tu também farás a minha vontade, dando sustento à minha casa.

10 Assim deu Hirão a Salomão madeira de cedros e madeiras de faias, conforme a toda a sua vontade.

11 E Salomão deu a Hirão vinte mil coros de trigo, para sustento da sua casa, e vinte coros de azeite batido: isto dava Salomão a Hirão de ano em ano.

12 Deu pois o Senhor a Salomão sabedoria como lhe tinha dito: e houve paz entre Hirão e Salomão, e ambos fizeram aliança.

29 And God gave Solomon wisdom, and very much understanding, and largeness of heart, like the sand that is on the sea shore.
30 And the wisdom of Solomon was greater than the wisdom of all those from the east, and than all the wisdom of the Egyptians.
31 And he was wiser still than all men, and than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcal, and Darda the son of Maol: and his name ran over all the nations round about.
32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were a thousand and five.
33 he also spoke of the trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows on the wall: he also spoke of animals and birds, and of creeping things and fish.
34 And there came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.

29 E deu Deus a Salomão sabedoria, e muitíssimo entendimento, e largueza de coração, como a areia que está na praia do mar.

30 E era a sabedoria de Salomão maior do que a sabedoria de todos os do oriente e do que toda a sabedoria dos egípcios.

31 E era ele ainda mais sábio do que todos os homens, e do que Etã, ezraita, e Hemã, e Calcal, e darda, filho de Maol: e correu o seu nome sobre todas nações em redor.

32 E disse três mil provérbios, e foram os seus cânticos mil e cinco.

33 Também falou das árvores, desde o cedro que está no Líbano até ao hissopo que nasce na parede: também falou dos animais e das aves, e dos répteis e dos peixes.

34 E vinham de todos os povos a ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão, e de todos os reis da terra que tinham ouvido da sua sabedoria.

1 So Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 And these were the princes that he had: Azariah, son of Zadok, priest;
3 Elioreph and Ahijah, son of Sisa, secretaries; Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, chancellor;
4 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests.
5 And Azariah the son of Nathan over the providers; and Zabud, son of Nathan, chief officer, friend of the king;
6 And Aishar the steward; Adoniram the son of Abda over the tribute.
7 And Solomon had twelve providers over all Israel, who provided for the king and his house: and each one had to provide for a month in the year.

20 So there were many of Judah and Israel, like the sand that is by the sea in multitude, eating, drinking, and rejoicing.
21 And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt; who brought gifts, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 So Solomon's daily supply was thirty cors of fine flour, and sixty cors of flour:
23 Ten fat cows, and twenty pasture cows, and a hundred rams, besides the deer, and the wild goats, and the roebucks, and barley fowl.
24 For he ruled over all that was on this side of the river from Tifsa to Gaza, over all the kings on this side of the river: and he had peace on all sides around him.
25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each one under his fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 Solomon also had forty thousand stables of horses for his chariots and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 So these providers provided, each in his month, for King Solomon and for all who came to King Solomon's table: nothing was missing.
28 And they brought barley and straw for the horses and for the riders, to the place where each one was, according to his charge.

20 Eram pois de Judá e Israel muitos, como a areia que está ao pé do mar em multidão, comendo, e bebendo, e alegrando-se.

21 E dominava Salomão sobre todos os reinos desde o rio até à terra dos filisteus, e até ao termo do Egito; os quais traziam presentes, e serviam a Salomão todos os dias de sua vida.

22 Era pois o provimento de Salomão, cada dia, trinta coros da flor da farinha, e sessenta coros de farinha:

23 Dez vacas gordas, e vinte vacas de pasto, e cem carneiros: afora os veados e as cabras monteses, e os corços, e aves cevadas.

24 Porque dominava sobre tudo quanto havia da banda de cá do rio de Tifsa até Gaza, sobre todos os reis da banda de cá do rio: e tinha paz de todas as bandas em roda dele.

25 E Judá e Israel habitavam seguros, cada um debaixo da sua figueira, desde Dã até Berseba, todos os dias de Salomão.

26 Tinha também Salomão quarenta mil estrebarias de cavalos para os seus carros e doze mil cavaleiros.

27 Proviam pois estes provedores, cada um no seu mês, ao rei Salomão e a todos quantos se chegavam à mesa do rei Salomão: cosa nenhuma deixava faltar.

16 Then two prostitute women came to the king and stood before him.
17 And one of the women said to him, Ah! My lord, this woman and I live in a house; and I had a son, living with her in that house.
18 And it came to pass on the third day after I was delivered, that this woman also had a son: we were together, no stranger was with us in the house, but we both in that house.
19 And this woman's son died in the night, because she had lain on him.
20 And she rose at midnight, and took my son from my side, thy handmaid sleeping, and laid him in my bosom.
21 And when I rose up in the morning to nurse my child, behold, he was dead: but when I looked at him in the morning, behold, it was not the son I had borne.
22 Then he said to another woman, No, but my son is the living one, and your son is the dead one. But she said, No, certainly: the dead is your son, and my son is the living. So they spoke before the king.
23 And the king said, This saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead; and this other says, No, indeed; the dead is your son and my son is the living.
24 The king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
25 And the king said, Divide the living child into two parts: and give half to one, and half to the other.
26 But the woman whose son was living spoke to the king (for her bowels yearned for her son), and said, Ah! My lord, give him the living child, and by no means kill him. But the other said: Neither be yours nor mine; I shared it before.
27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and by no means kill him, for this is his mother.
28 And all Israel heard the judgment of the king, and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

19 E de noite morreu o filho desta mulher, porquanto se deitara sobre ele.

20 E levantou-se à meia-noite e me tirou a meu filho do meu lado, dormindo a tua serva, e o deitou no meu seio.

21 E, levantando-me eu pela manhã, para dar de mamar a meu filho, eis que estava morto: mas, atentando pela manhã para ele, eis que não era o filho, que eu havia tido.

22 Então disse a outra mulher: Não, mas o vivo é meu filho, e seu filho o morto. Porém esta disse: Não, por certo: o morto é teu filho, e meu filho o vivo.Assim falaram perante o rei.

23 Então disse o rei: Esta diz: Este que vive é o meu filho, e teu filho o morto; e esta outra diz: Não, por certo; o morto é teu filho e meu filho o vivo.

24 Disse mais o rei: Trazei-me uma espada. E trouxeram uma espada diante do rei.

25 E disse o rei: Dividi em duas partes o menino vivo: e dai metade a uma e metade a outra.

26 Mas a mulher, cujo filho era vivo, falou ao rei ( porque as suas entranhas se lhe enterneceram por seu filho ), e disse: Ah! Senhor meu, dai-lhe o menino vivo, e por modo nenhum o mateis. Porém a outra dizia: Nem teu nem meu seja; dividi-o antes.

27 Então respondeu o rei, e disse: Dai a esta o menino vivo, e de maneira nenhuma o mateis, porque esta é sua mãe.

28 E todo Israel ouviu a sentença que dera o rei, e temeu ao rei: porque viram que havia nele a sabedoria de Deus, para fazer justiça.

Solomon marries Pharaoh's daughter

1 And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt: and he took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had finished building his house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
2 Only that the people sacrificed on the high places: because until those days no house had been built to the name of the Lord.
3 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father; only that on the high places he sacrificed, and burned incense.
4 And the king of Gibeon went there to sacrifice, because that was the great high place; a thousand burnt offerings Solomon sacrificed on that altar.
5 And in Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God says to him: Ask for whatever you want to give you.
6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shown great kindness to Thy servant David my father, as he also walked with Thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart, before Thy face: and Thou hast kept for him this great kindness, and hast you gave a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
7 Now therefore, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king in the place of David my father: and I am but a little child; I don't even know how to get out or how to get in.
8 And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people that cannot be counted or numbered for multitude.
9 Give thy servant therefore an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and evil: for who is able to judge this great people?
10 And the word seemed good in the eyes of the LORD, that Solomon should ask this thing.
11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked riches for thyself, neither hast asked the life of thine enemies: but thou hast asked understanding for thyself, to hear causes and judgment;
12 Behold, I have done according to your words: behold, I have given you a heart so wise and understanding, that before you your equal there was not, and after you your equal shall not arise.
13 I have also given you what you did not ask for, both riches and glory, so that there may not be your equal among kings all your days.
14 And if you walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as David your father walked, I will also prolong your days.
15 And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and sacrificed burnt offerings, and prepared peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.

1 E Salomão se aparentou com Faraó, rei do Egito: e tomou a filha de Faraó, e a trouxe á cidade de Davi, até que acabasse de edificar a sua casa, e a casa do Senhor, e a muralha de Jerusalém em roda.

2 Somente que o povo sacrificava sobre os altos: porque até àqueles dias ainda se não tinha edificado casa ao nome do Senhor.

3 E Salomão amava ao Senhor, andando nos estatutos de Davi, seu pai; somente que nos altos sacrificava, e queimava incenso.

4 E foi o rei de Gibeom para lá sacrificar, porque aquele era o alto grande; mil holocausto sacrificou Salomão naquele altar.

5 E em Gibeom apareceu o Senhor a Salomão de noite em sonhos; e diz-lhe Deus: Pede o que quiseres que te dê.

6 E disse Salomão: De grande beneficência usaste tu com teu servo Davi meu pai, como também ele andou contigo em verdade, e em justiça, e em retidão de coração, perante a tua face: e guardaste-lhe esta grande beneficência, e lhe deste um filho que se assentasse no seu trono, como se vê neste dia.

7 Agora pois ó Senhor meu Deus, tu fizeste reinar a teu servo em lugar de Davi meu pai: e sou ainda menino pequeno; nem sei como sair, nem como entrar.

8 E teu servo está no meio do teu povo que elegeste: povo grande, que nem se pode contar, nem numerar, pela sua multidão.

9 A teu servo pois dá um coração entendido para julgar a teu povo, para que prudentemente discirna entre o bem e o mal: porque quem poderia julgar a este tão grande povo?

10 E esta palavra pareceu boa aos olhos do Senhor, que Salomão pedisse esta coisa.

11 E disse-lhe Deus: Porquanto pediste esta coisa, e não pediste para ti riquezas, nem pediste a vida de teus inimigos: mas pediste para ti entendimento, para ouvir causas e juízo;

12 Eis que fiz segundo as tuas palavras: eis que te dei um coração tão sábio e entendido, que antes de ti teu igual não houve, e depois de ti teu igual se não levantará.

13 E também até o que não pediste te dei, assim riquezas como glória: que não haja teu igual entre os reis, por todos os teus dias.

14 E, se andares nos meus caminhos guardando os meus estatutos, e os meus mandamentos, como andou Davi teu pai, também prolongarei os teus dias.

15 E acordou Salomão, e eis que era um sonho. E veio a Jerusalém, e pôs-se perante a arca do concerto do Senhor, e, sacrificou holocaustos, e preparou sacrifícios pacíficos, e fez um banquete a todos os seus servos.

20 तब उस ने कहा, मैं तुझ से केवल एक छोटा सा बिनती मांगती हूं, मुझे अस्वीकार न कर। राजा ने उस से कहा, हे माता, मांग, मैं तुझ से मुंह न फेर लूंगा।
21 उस ने कहा, शूनेमिन अबीशग अपके भाई अदोनिय्याह की पत्नी होने के लिथे मुझे दे दे।
22 तब राजा सुलैमान ने अपक्की माता से कहा, तू अदोनिय्याह के लिथे शूनेमिन अबीशग से क्योंपूछती है? उसके लिए राज्य भी मांगो (क्योंकि वह मेरा बड़ा भाई है), मैं कहता हूं, और एब्यातार याजक, और सरूयाह के पुत्र योआब के लिए भी।
23 और राजा सुलैमान ने यहोवा की शपय खाकर कहा, यदि अदोनिय्याह ने अपके प्राण के विरोध में ऐसी बात न कही होती, तो परमेश्वर मुझ से वैसा ही वरन इस से भी अधिक करता।
24 इसलिथे अब यहोवा के जीवन की शपय, जिस ने मुझे दृढ़ करके अपके पिता दाऊद की गद्दी पर विराजमान किया, और अपके वचन के अनुसार अदोनिय्याह आज मरेगा, मेरे लिथे घर बसाया है।
25 और राजा सुलैमान ने यहोयादा के पुत्र बनायाह को भेज दिया, और वह उस पर टूट पड़ा, और वह मर गया।
26 और राजा एब्यातार याजक से कहा, अनातोत को अपके खेत में जा, क्योंकि वह प्राणदण्ड के योग्य मनुष्य है; परन्तु आज मैं तुझे न मारूंगा, क्योंकि तू मेरे पिता दाऊद के साम्हने यहोवा परमेश्वर का सन्दूक उठाए आया और मेरे पिता जितने दु:ख उठाए थे, उन सभोंमें तुम भी दु:खी हुए।

30 तब बनायाह ने यहोवा के निवास के पास जाकर उस से कहा, राजा योंकहता है, कि वहां से निकल आ। और उस ने कहा, नहीं, परन्तु यहां तो मैं मर जाऊंगा। तब बनायाह ने राजा के पास लौटकर कहा, योआब ने ऐसी बातें कहीं, और मुझे इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया।
31 राजा ने उस से कहा, उसके कहने के अनुसार उस पर लेट जा, और उसे मिट्टी दे, कि जो खून योआब ने अकारण किया वह मुझ से और मेरे पिता के घराने से दूर करे।
32 और यहोवा उसका खून उसी के सिर पर लौटाएगा, क्योंकि उस ने मेरे पिता दाऊद के बिना मेरे पिता दाऊद के अनजाने में दो और धर्मी और अकेले से अच्छे लोगों को देकर उन्हें तलवार से घात किया, अर्यात्‌ नेर का पुत्र अब्नेर, प्रधान हाकिम इस्राएल की सेना की ओर से और यहूदा के सेनापति येतेर के पुत्र अमासा को।

34 तब यहोयादा के पुत्र बनायाह ने चढ़ाई करके उसको घात किया, और उसे जंगल में उसी के घर में मिट्टी दी गई।
35 और राजा ने उसके स्थान पर यहोयादा के पुत्र बनायाह को सेना का अधिकारी नियुक्त किया, और एब्यातार के स्थान पर राजा सादोक याजक को नियुक्त किया।
36 तब राजा ने शिमी को बुलवा भेजा, और उस से कहा, अपके लिये यरूशलेम में एक घर बनाकर वहीं रहना, और वहां से न तो इधर उधर जाना।
37 क्योंकि जिस दिन तू निकलकर किद्रोन नाले के पार जाए, तब निश्चय निश्चय जान लिया जाएगा कि तू निश्चय मार डाला जाएगा; तेरा खून तेरे सिर पर पड़ेगा।
38 शिमी ने राजा से कहा, यह बात उत्तम है; जैसा मेरे प्रभु राजा ने कहा है वैसा ही तेरा दास करेगा। और शिमी यरूशलेम में बहुत दिन तक रहा।
39 तीन वर्ष के बीतने पर शिमी के दो दास गत के राजा माका के पुत्र आकीश के पास भाग गए, और उन्होंने शिमी को यह समाचार दिया, कि तेरे दास गत में हैं।
40 तब शिमी उठा, और अपके गदहे पर काठी बान्‍धकर गत को, आकीश के पास अपके सेवकोंको बुलवाने को गया; तब शिमी जाकर अपके जनोंको गत से ले आया।
41 और उन्होंने सुलैमान को यह समाचार दिया, कि यरूशलेम का शिमी गत को गया, और फिर लौट आया है।
42 तब राजा ने शिमी को बुलवा भेजा, और उस से कहा, क्या मैं ने यहोवा की शपथ खाकर तुझे यह आज्ञा न दी यी, कि जिस दिन तू इधर उधर फिरने को निकले, तब निश्चय जान ले, कि तुझे निश्चय मरना? और तू ने मुझ से कहा, जो वचन मैं ने सुना वह अच्छा है।
43 फिर तू ने यहोवा की शपय और उस आज्ञा को जो मैं ने तुझे दी है, क्यों नहीं मानी?
44 राजा ने शिमी से कहा, अच्छा तू जानता है कि तू ने अपके मन की सारी दुष्टता जो मेरे पिता दाऊद से की यी; इस कारण यहोवा ने तेरा अधर्म तेरे ही सिर पर डाल दिया है।
45 परन्तु राजा सुलैमान धन्य होगा, और दाऊद की गद्दी यहोवा के साम्हने सदा अटल रहेगी।
46 तब राजा ने यहोयादा के पुत्र बनायाह के पास भेजा, और वह निकलकर उस पर टूट पड़ा, और मर गया; इस प्रकार सुलैमान के हाथ में राज्य दृढ़ हो गया।

Solomon reigns, and kills Adonijah, Joab and Shimei

12 And Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom became exceedingly strong.
13 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba Solomon's mother; and she said, Is your coming in peace? And he said: It is of peace.
14 Then he said, I have a word to say to you. And she said: Speak.
15 He therefore said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel had set their sights on me, that I should reign, though the kingdom was transferred, and became my brother's, because it was made his by the Lord.
16 So now I make one petition to you; do not reject me. And she said to him: Speak.
17 And he said, I pray thee speak to king Solomon (for he will not reject thee) to give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
18 And Bathsheba said, Well, I will speak for you to the king.
19 So Bathsheba came to king Solomon, speaking to him by Adonijah: and the king rose to meet her, and bowed down to her; so he sat down on his throne, and had a chair set up for the king's mother, and she sat down at his right hand.
20 Then she said, I only ask you one small request: do not reject me. And the king said to her, Ask, my mother, for I will not make you turn your face away.
21 And she said, Give me Abishag the Shunammite to Adonijah your brother to wife.
22 Then king Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask also for him the kingdom (for he is my elder brother), for him, I say, and also for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
23 And king Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, May God do so to me, and more, if Adonijah had not spoken this word against his life.
24 Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who established me, and made me sit on the throne of David my father, and who has made me an house, as he said, that Adonijah shall die today.
25 And King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, which fell on him, and he died.
26 And to Abiathar the priest the king said, Go to Anathoth, to your fields, for he is a man worthy of death: but I will not kill you today, because you have borne the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all that my father was afflicted.
27 So Solomon cast out Abiathar, that he should not be a priest of the LORD, to fulfill the word of the LORD, which he had spoken concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
28 And the fame came unto Joab (because Joab had gone astray following Absalom), and Joab fled to the tabernacle of the LORD, and took hold of the horns of the altar.
29 And they told king Solomon that Joab had fled to the tabernacle of the LORD, and, behold, he is by the altar: then Solomon sent Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, strike him.
30 And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come out of there. And he said, No, but here I will die. And Benaiah returned with answer to the king, saying, Thus spake Joab, and thus did he answer me.
31 And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and lay on him, and bury him, that he may take away from me and from my father's house the blood which Joab shed without cause.
32 So the Lord will bring his blood back on his own head, because he gave two men more righteous and better than he alone, and killed them with the sword, without my father David knowing it, namely: Abner, son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel and to Amasa son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.
33 Thus shall the blood of these return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed, for ever; but to David, and to his seed, and to his house, and to his throne, the Lord will give peace forever and ever.
34 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his house in the wilderness.
35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the host, and Zadok the priest the king put in place of Abiathar.
36 Then the king sent and called Shimei, and said to him, Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and do not go out from there, to one place or to the other.
37 For it shall come to pass, in the day that thou goest forth, and passest over the brook Cedron, thou shalt know for a certainty that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be on thy head.
38 And Shimei said to the king, Good is the saying; as my lord the king has said, so shall your servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.
39 But it came to pass at the end of three years, that two servants of Shimei fled to Achish, the son of Maacah, king of Gath: and they reported to Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants are in Gath.
40 Then Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath, to Achish, to fetch his servants: so Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.
41 And they told Solomon that Shimei from Jerusalem had gone to Gath, and had come back.
42 Then the king sent and called Shimei, and said to him, Did I not adjure thee by the LORD, and charge against thee, saying, In the day that thou goest out to one place or another, know thou surely that thou shalt surely die? And you said to me: Good is that word that I heard.
43 Why then did you not keep the oath of the Lord, nor the commandment that I commanded you?
44 The king said to Shimei, Well thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart knowest that thou hast done to David my father; therefore the Lord has brought your iniquity on your own head.
45 But King Solomon will be blessed, and the throne of David will be established before the Lord forever.
46 And the king sent to Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, who went out, and fell upon him, and died: thus was the kingdom confirmed in the hand of Solomon.

12 E Salomão se assentou no trono de Davi, seu pai, e o seu reino se fortificou sobremaneira.

13 Então veia Adonias filho de Hagite, a Betseba, mãe de Salomão; e disse ela: De paz é a tua vinda? E ele disse: É de paz.

14 Então disse ele: Uma palavra tenho que dizer-te. E ela disse: Fala.

15 Disse pois ele: Bem sabes que o reino era meu, e todo Israel tinha posto a vista em mim para que eu viesse a reinar, ainda que o reino se transferiu e veio ser de meu irmão, porque foi feito seu pelo Senhor.

16 Assim que agora uma só petição te faço; não ma rejeites. E ela lhe disse: Fala.

17 E ele disse: Peço-te que fales ao rei Salomão ( porque ele to não rejeitará) que me dê por mulher a Abisague, a sunamita.

18 E disse Batseba: Bem, eu falarei por ti ao rei.

19 Assim veio Betseba ao rei Salomão, a falar-lhe por Adonias: e o rei se levantou a encontrar-se com ela, e se inclinou diante dela; então se assentou no seu trono, e fez pôr uma cadeira para a mãe do rei, e ela se assentou à sua mão direita.

20 Então disse ela: Só uma pequena petição te faço: não ma rejeites. E o rei lhe disse: Pede, minha mãe, porque te não farei virar o rosto.

21 E ela disse: Dê-me Abisague, a sunamita, a Adonias, teu irmão, por mulher.

22 Então respondeu o rei Salomão e disse a sua mãe: E por que pedes a Abisague, a sunamita, para Adonias? Pede também para ele o reino ( porque é meu irmão maior ), para ele, digo, e também para Abiatar, sacerdote, e para Joabe, filho de Zeruia.

23 E jurou o rei Salomão pelo Senhor dizendo: Assim Deus me faça, e outro tanto, se não falou Adonias esta palavra contra a sua vida.

24 Agora pois, vive o Senhor, que me confirmou, e me fez assentar no trono de Davi, meu pai, e que me tem feito casa, como tinha dito, que hoje morrerá Adonias.

25 E enviou o rei Salomão pela mão de Benaia, filho de Joiada, o qual deu sobre ele, e morreu.

26 E a Abiatar, o sacerdote, disse o rei: Para Anatote vai, para os teus campos, porque é homem digno de morte: porém hoje te não matarei, porquanto levaste a arca do Senhor Deus diante de Davi, meu pai, e porquanto foste aflito em tudo que meu pai foi aflito.

27 Lançou pois Salomão fora a Abiatar, para que não fosse sacerdote do Senhor, para cumprir a palavra do Senhor, que tinha dito sobre a casa de Eli em Siló.

28 E veio a fama até Joabe ( porque Joabe se tinha desviado seguindo a Absalão ), e Joabe fugiu para o tabernáculo do Senhor, e pegou das pontas do altar.

29 E disseram ao rei Salomão que Joabe tinha fugido para o tabernáculo do Senhor, e eis que está junto ao altar: então enviou Salomão Benaia, filho de Joiada, dizendo: Vai, dá sobre ele.

30 E veio Benaia ao tabernáculo do Senhor, e lhe disse: Assim diz o rei: Sai daí. E disse ele: Não, porém aqui morrerei. E Benaia tornou com a resposta ao rei, dizendo: Assim falou Joabe, e assim me respondeu.

31 E disse-lhe o rei: Faze como ele disse, e dá sobre ele, e sepulta-o, para que tires de mim e da casa de meu pai o sangue que Joabe sem causa derramou.

32 Assim o Senhor fará recair o sangue dele sobre a sua cabeça, porque deu sobre dois homens mais justos e melhores só que ele, e os matouà espada, sem que meu pai Davi o soubesse, a saber: a Abner, filho de Ner, chefe do exército de Israel e a Amasa, filho de Jéter, chefe do exército de Judá.

33 Assim recairá o sangue destes sobre a cabeça de Joabe e sobre a cabeça da sua semente, para sempre; mas a Davi, e à sua semente, e à sua casa, e ao seu trono dará o Senhor paz para todo o sempre.

34 E subiu Benaia, filho de Joiada, e deu sobre ele, e o matou: e foi sepultado em sua casa, no deserto.

35 E o rei pôs a Benaia, filho de Joiada em seu lugar sobre o exército, e a Zadoque, o sacerdote, pôs o rei em lugar de Abiatar.

36 Depois enviou o rei, e chamou a Simei, e disse-lhe: Edifica-te uma casa em Jerusalém, e habita aí, e daí não saias, nem para uma nem para outra parte.

37 Porque há de ser que, no dia em que saíres e passares o ribeiro de Cedron, saibas de certo que certamente morrerás: o teu sangue será sobre a tua cabeça.

38 E Simei disse ao rei: Boa é essa palavra; como tem dito o rei meu Senhor, assim fará o teu servo. E Simei habitou em Jerusalém muitos dias.

39 Sucedeu porém que, ao cabo de três anos, dois servos de Simei fugiram para Áquis, filho de Maaca, rei de Gate: e deram parte a Simei, dizendo: Eis que teus servos estão em Gate.

40 Então Simei se levantou, e albardou o seu jumento, e foi a Gate, para Áquis, a buscar a seus servos: assim foi Simei, e trouxe os seus servos de Gate.

41 E disseram a Salomão que Simei de Jerusalém fora a Gate, e tinha já voltado.

42 Então enviou o rei e chamou a Simei, e disse-lhe: Não te conjurei eu pelo Senhor, e protestei contra ti, dizendo: No dia em que saíres para uma ou outra parte, sabe de certo que certamente morrerás? E tu me disseste: Boa é essa palavra que ouvi.

43 Por que pois não guardaste o juramento do Senhor, nem o mandado que te mandei?

44 Disse mais o rei a Simei: Bem sabes tu toda a maldade que o teu coração reconhece que fizeste a Davi, meu pai; pelo que o Senhor fez recair a tua maldade sobre a tua cabeça.

45 Mas o rei Salomão será abençoado, e o trono de Davi será confirmado perante o Senhor para sempre.

46 E o rei mandou a Benaia, filho de Joiada, o qual saiu, e deu sobre ele, e morreu: assim foi confirmado o reino na mão de Salomão.

1 And the days of David's death drew near: and he commanded Solomon his son, saying,

3 And keep the observance of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in whatever you do, wherever you turn.
4 That the Lord might confirm his word, which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children keep his way, to walk before me faithfully, with all their heart and with all their soul, I said, never shall thee fail successor to the throne of Israel.
5 And you also know what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two commanders of the army of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and in peace he poured out the blood of war, and he put the blood of war in his belt that was on his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
6 So do according to your wisdom, and do not let his gray hairs go down to the grave in peace.

10 E Davi dormiu com seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi.

11 E foram os dias que Davi reinou sobre Israel quarenta anos: sete anos reinou em Hebrom, e em Jerusalém reinou trinta e três anos.

32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they entered into the presence of the king.
33 And the king said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and have Solomon my son ride upon my mule; and bring him down to Gihon.
34 And Zadok the priest, with Nathan the prophet, shall there anoint him king over Israel: then shall ye blow the trumpet, and shall say, Long live King Solomon!
35 Then shall ye go up after him, and he shall come and sit on my throne, and he shall reign in my stead: for I have commanded him to be a guide over Israel and over Judah.
36 Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: so saith the Lord God of my lord the king.
37 As the LORD was with my lord the king, so be it with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
38 Then came down Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and made Solomon ride on king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.
39 And Zadok the priest took the vessel of oil from the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon: and they blew the trumpet, and all the people said, Long live Solomon the king!
40 And all the people went up after him, and the people played the pipes, and rejoiced with great joy: so that the earth rang with their cry.
41 And Adonijah heard it, and all the guests that were with him, who had made an end of eating: also Joab heard the sound of the trumpets, and he said, Why is there such a noise in the tumultuous city?
42 While he was still speaking, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came, and Adonijah said, Go in, for you are a mighty man, and you will bring good news.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Surely our lord king David hath made Solomon king.
44 And the king sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites: and they made him ride on the king's mule.
45 And Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, anointed him king in Gihon;
46 And Solomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.
47 And also the king's servants came to bless our lord King David, saying, Thy God make the name of Solomon to be better than thy name; and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed on the couch.
48 And the king also said thus: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who has given him today one to sit on my throne, that my eyes may see him.
49 Then all the guests who were with Adonijah shuddered and arose, and each one went his way.
50 But Adonijah feared Solomon, and arose, and went, and took hold of the horns of the altar.
51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, behold, he hath taken of the horns of the altar, saying, King Solomon swear to me this day, that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
52 And Solomon said, If he be a good man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the ground; but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.
53 And king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar; and he came and prostrated himself before king Solomon, and Solomon said to him, Go to your house.

52 E disse Salomão: Se for homem de bem, nem um de seus cabelos cairá em terra; porém, se se achar nele maldade, morrerá.

53 E enviou o rei Salomão, e o fizeram descer do altar; e veio, e prostrou-se perante o rei Salomão, e Salomão lhe disse: Vai para tua casa.
