1 The Burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud, and will come to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt will be shaken before their face, and the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them.

2 For I will cause Egyptians to rise up against Egyptians, and they will fight each against his brother, and each against his neighbor, city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

3 And the spirit of the Egyptians will fail within them; I will destroy their counsel; and they will consult their idols, their enchanters, their diviners, and their magicians.

4 And I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them, declares the Lord, the Lord of hosts.

5 And the waters will fail from the sea, and the river will dry up and dry up. 

6 The rivers will also rot and dry up, and the canals of Egypt will dry up; the reeds and rushes will wither.

16 At that time the Egyptians will be like women, trembling and afraid because of the hand of the Lord Almighty, because it will move against them.

17 And the land of Judah will be a horror to Egypt; everyone to whom it is told will be dismayed because of the purpose of the Lord Almighty, what he has purposed against them.

18 At that time there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that will speak the language of Canaan and will swear an oath to the Lord of Hosts; and one will be called, "City of Destruction."

19 At that time the Lord will have an altar in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a monument will be set up to the Lord at its border.

20 It will be a sign and a testimony to the Lord of Hosts in the land of Egypt, for they will cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, and he will send them a Redeemer and a Protector, who will deliver them.

21 The Lord will make himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day; they will worship him with sacrifices and offerings, and they will make vows to the Lord and fulfill them.

22 The Lord will strike the Egyptians and heal them. They will return to the Lord and be moved by their prayers and will heal them. 

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come to Egypt, and the Egyptians will go to Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship the Lord with the Assyrians.

24 In that day Israel will be the third with the Egyptians and the Assyrians, a blessing in the midst of the earth.

25 For the Lord of hosts will bless them, saying: Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.

2 Porque farei com que os egípcios se levantem com os egípcios, e cada um pelejará contra o seu irmão, e cada um contra o seu próximo, cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.

3 E o espírito dos egípcios se esvaecerá dentro deles; eu destruirei o seu conselho: e eles consultarão os seus ídolos, e encantadores, e adivinhos e mágicos.

4 E entregarei os egípcios nas mãos de um senhor duro, e um rei rigoroso os dominará, diz o Senhor, o Senhor dos Exércitos.

2 He goes up to Bajith and Dibon, to the high places, weeping; for Nebo and for Medeba Moab will howl; every head will be bald, and every beard will be shaved.

3 They gird themselves with sackcloth in their streets, on their rooftops, and in their squares everyone howls, and weeps bitterly.

4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voice is heard even to Jahaz; therefore the armed men of Moab cry out; their soul trembles within them. 

5 My heart cries out for Moab; its nobles have fled to Zoar like a three-year-old heifer, because they weep at the ascent of Luhith, because on the way to Horonaim they take up a mournful wail.

6 For the waters of Nimrim will be a desolation; for the hay has dried up, the grass has languished, and there is no green thing.

7 Therefore they will carry away the abundance that they gathered and what they stored away to the brook of willows.

8 For the weeping will go all around the borders of Moab; its cry will reach even to Eglaim, and its roaring will reach even to Beerelim.

9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood; therefore I will add more to Dimon: lions against those who escape from Moab, and against the remnants of the land.

31 Howl, O gate; cry out, O city, you, Philistia, you are all melted! For smoke comes from the north, and no one will be left alone at the appointed time.

32 What then will you answer the messengers of the people? The Lord has founded Zion, that the oppressed of his people may find refuge in it.

1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and will settle them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cling to the house of Jacob.

2 And the peoples shall take them, and bring them to their places: and the house of Israel shall possess them for servants and for handmaids in the land of the Lord: and they shall take captive those who took them captive, and rule over their oppressors.

3 And it shall come to pass, in the day that God shall give thee rest from thy labor, and from thy trembling, and from the hard bondage wherein they made thee serve:

4 Then shalt thou take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! The golden city is finished!

5 The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers. 

6 He who struck the peoples with fury, with endless plagues, who ruled the nations in anger, is now persecuted, and no one can restrain him.

7 He is at rest, the whole earth is at rest! They shout for joy.

8 Even the fir trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, "Since you fell, no one has come up against us to cut us down."

9 Sheol from the underworld is in turmoil for you, to meet you at your coming; it has awakened the dead for you, and all the princes of the earth, and raised all the kings of the nations from their thrones.

10 They will all answer and say to you, "You have also become sick like us, and you have become like us."

11 Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol with the noise of your viols; the worms will spread themselves under you, and the worms will cover you. 

12 How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!

13 You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, in the sides of the north!"

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.

15 Yet you will be brought down to Sheol, to the sides of the Pit.

16 Those who see you will gaze upon you and consider you, and say, "Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who made kingdoms tremble?

17 Who made the world like a wilderness and laid waste its cities, who did not let his captives go free to their homes?"

18 All the kings of the nations, every one of them, lie down in honor, each in his own house. 

19 But you are cast out of your grave like an abominable branch, like a garment of slain men pierced by a sword, like those who go down to the stones of a den, like a dead body trampled underfoot.

20 You will not be joined with them in the grave, because you have destroyed your land and killed your people; the offspring of the wicked will not be named forever.

21 Prepare slaughter for the children because of the iniquity of their fathers, so that they do not rise up and possess the land, and fill the world with cities.

22 For I will rise up against them, declares the Lord of hosts, and I will cut off from Babylon name and waste, son and grandson, declares the Lord.

23 And I will make her a possession of owls and pools of water; and I will sweep her with the broom of destruction, declares the Lord of hosts.

1 Porque o Senhor se compadecerá de Jacó, e ainda elegerá a Israel e os porá na sua própria terra: e ajuntar-se-ão com eles os estranhos, e se achegarão à casa de Jacó.

2 E os povos os receberão, e os levarão aos seus lugares, e a casa de Israel os possuirá por servos e por servas, na terra do Senhor; e cativarão aqueles que os cativaram, e dominarão os seus opressores.

3 E acontecerá que no dia em que Deus vier a dar-te descanso do teu trabalho, e do teu tremor, e da dura servidão com que te fizeram servir.

5 Já quebrantou o Senhor o bastão dos ímpios e o cetro dos dominadores.

7 Já descansa, já está sossegada toda a terra! Exclamam com júbilo.

9 O inferno desde o profundo se turbou por ti, pata te sair ao encontro na tua vinda: despertou por ti os mortos, e todos os príncipes da terra, e fez levantar dos seus tronos a todos os reis das nações.

10 Estes todos responderão, e te dirão: Tu também adoeceste como nós, e foste semelhante a nós.

11 Já foi derrubada no inferno a tua soberba com o som dos teus alaúdes: os bichinhos debaixo de ti se estenderão, e os bichos te cobrirão.

12 Como caíste do céu, ó estrela da manhã, filha da alva! Como foste lançada por terra, tu que debilitavas as nações!

13 E tu dizias no teu coração: Eu subirei ao céu, acima das estrelas de Deus exaltarei o meu trono, e no monte da congregação me assentarei, da banda dos lados do norte.

14 Subirei acima das mais altas nuvens, e serei semelhante ao Altíssimo.

15 E contudo levado serás ao inferno, ao mais profundo do abismo.

16 Os que te virem te contemplarão, considerar-te-ão, e dirão: É este o varão que fazia estremecer a terra, e que fazia tremer os reinos?

17 Que punha o mundo como um deserto, e assolava as suas cidades? Que seus cativos não deixava ir soltos para suas casas?

18 Todos os reis das nações, todos eles, jazem em honra, cada um na sua casa.

19 Mas tu és lançado da tua sepultura, como um renovo abominável, como um vestido de mortos atravessados à espada, como os que descem ao covil de pedras, como corpo morto e pisado.

20 Com eles não te reunirás na sepultura; porque destruíste a tua terra e mataste o teu povo: a descendência dos malignos não será nomeada para sempre.

2 Lift up a banner upon the bare mountain; lift up your voice to them; wave your hand to them, that they may enter the gates of the princes.

3 I have commanded my holy ones; I have called my mighty men to my anger, those who rejoice in my majesty.

4 The shouting of the multitude is heard on the mountains, like that of a great people, the tumult of kingdoms, and of nations gathered together. The Lord of hosts musters the army.

5 He comes from a far country, from the end of heaven, the Lord and the instruments of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

 6 Howl, for the day of the Lord is near; it comes like destruction from the Almighty.

7 Therefore all hands will be feeble, and every man's heart will melt.

8 They will be terrified, and pangs and anguish will seize them, and they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. Everyone will be terrified of his neighbor; their faces will be like faces of flame.

9 Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth desolate and to destroy its sinners from it.

10 For the stars of heaven and the heavenly bodies will not stop their light; the sun will be darkened in its rising, and the moon will not give its light. 

11 I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will put an end to the arrogance of the arrogant, and I will humble the haughtiness of the ruthless.

12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold, and rarer than the gold of Ophir.

13 Therefore I will shake the heavens; the earth will be moved out of its place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

14 Everyone will be like a fleeing deer, and like a sheep that no one takes back; everyone will return to his own people, and everyone will flee to his own land.

15 Everyone who is found will be thrust through, and everyone who is caught will fall by the sword.

16 Their children will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be plundered, and their wives ravished. 

17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not regard silver, nor desire gold.

18 Their bows will dash young men to pieces, and they will have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye will not spare children.

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the glory and pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah, when God overthrew them.

20 It will no longer be inhabited, nor will it be built from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch his tent there, nor will the shepherds make their flocks lie down there.

21 But the wild beasts of the desert will lie down, horrible creatures; ostriches will dwell there, and satyrs will cavort there.

22 Howling beasts will cry to one another in their empty palaces, and jackals in their pleasure palaces. for his time is near, and his days will not be prolonged.

1 Peso de Babilônia, que viu Isaías, filho de Amós.

6 Uivai, porque o dia do Senhor está perto: vem do Todo-poderoso como assolação.

7 Pelo que todas as mãos se debilitarão, e o coração de todos os homens se desanimará.

8 E assombrar-se-ão, e apoderar-se-ão deles dores e ais, e se angustiarão, como a mulher parturiente; cada um se espantará do seu próximo; os seus rostos serão rostos flamejantes.

9 Eis que o dia do Senhor vem, horrendo, com furor e ira ardente, para pôr a terra em assolação e destruir os pecadores dela.

10 Porque as estrelas dos céus e os astros não deixarão de brilhar a sua luz; o sol se escurecerá ao nascer, e a lua não fará resplandecer a sua luz.

11 E visitarei sobre o mundo a maldade, e sobre os ímpios a sua iniqüidade: e farei cessar a arrogância dos atrevidos, e abaterei a soberba dos tiranos.

12 Farei que um homem seja mais precioso do que o ouro puro, e mais raro do que o ouro fino de Ofir.

13 Pelo que farei estremecer os céus; a terra se moverá do seu lugar, por causa do furor do Senhor dos Exércitos, e por causa do dia da sua ardente ira.

14 E cada um será como a corça que foge, e como a ovelha que ninguém recolhe: cada um voltará para o seu povo, e cada um fugirá para a sua terra.

15 Todo que for achado será transpassado: e todo o que for apanhado, cairá á espada.

16 E suas crianças serão despedaçadas perante os seus olhos: as suas casas serão saqueadas, e as suas mulheres violadas.

17 Eis que eu despertarei contra eles os medos, que não farão caso da prata, nem tampouco desejarão ouro.

18 E os seus arcos despedaçarão os mancebos, e não se compadecerão do fruto do ventre; o seu olho não poupará os filhos.

19 E Babilônia, o ornamento dos reinos, a glória e a soberba dos caldeus, será como Sodoma e Gomorra, quando Deus as transtornou.

20 Nunca mais será habitada, nem reedificada de geração em geração: nem o árabe armará ali a sua tenda, nem tampouco os pastores ali farão deitar os seus rebanhos.

21 Mas as feras do deserto repousarão horríveis animais; e ali habitarão as avestruzes, e os sátiros pularão ali.

22 E as feras que uivam gritarão umas às outras nos seus palácios vazios, como também os chacais nos seus palácios de prazer; pois bem perto já vem chegando o seu tempo, e os seus dias não se prolongarão.

1 And you will say in that day, "I will praise you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger has turned away, and you comforted me."

2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.

3 And you will draw water with joy from the wells of salvation.

4 And you will say in that day, "Give thanks to the Lord; call on his name; make known his deeds among the peoples; declare that his name is exalted."

5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done great things; let them know in all the earth.

6 Shout and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst.

1 E dirás naquele dia: Graças te dou, ó Senhor, porque, ainda que te iraste contra mim, a tua ira se retirou, e tu me consolaste.

2 Eis que Deus é a minha salvação: eu confiarei e não temerei porque o SENHOR JEOVÁ é a minha força e o meu cântico, e se tornou a minha salvação.

3 E vós com alegria tirareis águas das fontes da salvação.

4 E direis naquele dia: Dai graças ao Senhor, invocai o seu nome, tornai manifestos os seus feitos entre os povos, contai quão excelso é o seu nome.

The Kingdom of the Messiah is Peaceful and Prosperous

1 For a shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will grow from his roots.

2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon him—the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

3 He will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what his eyes see, nor reprove by what his ears hear.

4 But with righteousness he will judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist. 

6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the ewe together, and a little child will lead them.

7 The cow and the bear will graze, and their young will lie down together; and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

8 And the nursing child will play on the cobra's den, and the weaned child will put his hand on the adder's den.

9 They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

10 And it will come to pass in that day that the nations will ask for the root of Jesse, who stands as an ensign for the peoples, and his resting place will be glorious. 

11 For it will come to pass in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, who are left from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the islands of the sea.

12 And he will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 And the envy of Ephraim will be driven away, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not oppress Ephraim.

14 But they will fly on the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they will plunder the people of the east together; they will lay their hands on Edom and Moab, and the people of Ammon will obey them. 

15 And the Lord will utterly destroy the sea of ​​Egypt, and will shake his hand against the river with a mighty wind, and will strike it, dividing it into seven streams, which one may cross with shoes. 

16 And there will be a highway for the remnant of his people, who are left from Assyria, as was the case for Israel on the day they came up out of the land of Egypt.
