II Chronicles 08
Solomon Makes the Hittites Taxpayers
As for all the people who were left of the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of Israel;
Of their children who remained after them in the land, whom the children of Israel did not destroy, Solomon made taxpayers to this day.
But the children of Israel, whom Solomon did not make servants for his work (but they were men of war, chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots, and of his horsemen),
These were the chief of the officers whom King Solomon had, two hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people.
And Solomon brought up Pharaoh's daughter from the City of David to the house that he had built for her; for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for the places where the ark of the Lord has come are holy.”
Then Solomon offered a burnt offering to the Lord on the altar of the Lord that he had built before the porch.
And this according to the daily duty, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts three times in the year, and on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and on the Feast of Weeks, and on the Feast of Tabernacles.
And according to the order of David his father, he appointed the courses of the priests according to their service, and the Levites according to their charges, to praise God, and to minister before the priests, according to the order for each day, and the gatekeepers by their courses at each gate: for such was the commandment of David the man of God.
And they did not deviate from the king's commandment to the priests and Levites in any matter, not even concerning the treasures.
Thus all the work of Solomon was prepared from the day the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid until it was finished; and so the house of the LORD was finished.
Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth, on the seashore, in the land of Edom.
And Hiram sent to him by the hand of his servants ships and servants skilled in the sea; and they went with Solomon's servants to Ophir, and took from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to King Solomon.
