II Chronicles 05 The Ark is Taken to the Temple Sanctuary

 II Chronicles 05

The Ark is Taken to the Temple Sanctuary

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the city of David, which is Zion.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.

Then all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites carried the ark.

And they brought up the ark, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent: the priests and the Levites brought them up.

Then King Solomon and all the assembly of Israel that were assembled with him before the ark sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

So the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, to the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.

For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

Then the poles were extended so that the ends of the poles of the ark could be seen in front of the inner sanctuary but could not be seen from outside. And it has been there to this day.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had put in Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.

And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the sanctuary: for all the priests that were present had consecrated themselves, not keeping their courses.

And the Levites, the singers of all of them, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons, were clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, standing on the east side of the altar; and with them were a hundred and twenty priests blowing the trumpets:

They blew the trumpets with one accord, and sang, that they might be heard with one voice, blessing and melody unto the LORD: and when they lifted up their voices with trumpets, and cymbals, and other musical instruments, and blessed the LORD, that he was good, for his mercy endureth for ever: that the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD.

And the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
