II Chronicles 03
The Construction of the Temple Begins
Now Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had shown Himself to David his father, in the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
And he began to build in the second month, on the second day, in the fourth year of his reign.
Now these were the foundations that Solomon laid to build the house of God: The length in cubits, according to the first measure, was sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.
And the porch that was in front, the length according to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height one hundred and twenty cubits; and he overlaid it inside with pure gold.
And he paneled the great house with falafel wood, and overlaid it with fine gold, and made palm branches and chains on it.
He also adorned the house with precious stones for decoration, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.
He also overlaid the beams, the posts, its walls, and its doors with gold, and carved cherubim on the walls.
He also made the Most Holy Place, whose length was twenty cubits, according to the breadth of the house, and its width twenty cubits. He overlaid it with fine gold, weighing six hundred talents.
The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold, and he overlaid the upper rooms with gold.
