The Officers and Judges

29 Of the Isharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed over Israel for the outside work, as officers and judges.

30 Of the Hebronites, Hesabiah and his brothers, valiant men, one thousand seven hundred, who had charge of the offices in Israel from this side of the Jordan westward, in all the work of the Lord and in the service of the king.

31 Of the Hebronites, Jeriah was the leader of the Hebronites, according to their ancestral lineages. In the fortieth year of the reign of David, they sought out and found among them valiant men in Jaezer of Gilead.

32 And their brothers, valiant men, two thousand seven hundred, heads of the ancestral lines. King David appointed them over the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for all the affairs of God and for all the king's affairs.
