I Chronicles 14
David Makes an Alliance with Hiram
Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timber, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
And David knew that the Lord had established him king over Israel, because his kingdom had been greatly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
And these are the names of his sons that he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
And Jibar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,
And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
And when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: and David went out against them.
And the Philistines came and spread out in the Valley of Raphaim.
Then David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines, and deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.
And he went up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there: and David said, By my hand God hath defeated my enemies, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
And they left their gods there: and David commanded to burn them with fire.
But the Philistines turned back, and spread out in the valley.
And David inquired of God again: and God said to him, Thou shalt not go up after them; but compass them about behind, and come up against them in front of the mulberry trees:
And it shall come to pass, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that thou go out to battle: for God hath gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
And David did as God commanded him: and they slew the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even unto Gazor.
So the name of David spread throughout all lands: and the fear of the LORD did unto all nations.
