The Book of the Prophet Zechariah 3 Fourth Vision: The High Priest is Accused by Satan and Justified by God

The Book of the Prophet Zechariah 3

Fourth Vision: The High Priest is Accused by Satan and Justified by God

1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?”

3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and was standing before the angel.

4 Then he spoke and commanded those who stood before him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “See, I have taken away your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with new garments.”

5 Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they clothed him with garments, and the angel of the Lord stood by.

6 And the angel of the Lord protested to Joshua, saying,

7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you walk in my ways and keep my ordinances, then you shall also judge my courts, and I will give you a place among these who stand here.

8 Hear now, Joshua the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of portent: behold, I will bring forth my servant, the Branch.

9 For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; upon this one stone are seven eyes: Behold, I will engrave its inscription, says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in one day.

10 In that day, says the Lord of hosts, each of you shall invite his companion under the vine and under the fig tree.
