The Book of the Prophet Zechariah 13

The Book of the Prophet Zechariah 13

1 In that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

2 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord of hosts, that I will remove the names of the idols from the land, and they shall be remembered no more; and I will remove the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.

3 And it shall come to pass, when a man prophesies, that his father and mother who begot him shall say to him, “You shall not live, because you have spoken falsely in the name of the Lord.” And his father and mother who begot him shall pierce him through when he prophesies.

4 And it shall come to pass in that day that the prophets shall be ashamed of their visions when they prophesy; neither shall they wear a hairy mantle anymore to lie.

5 But they shall say, “I am not a prophet, but a tiller of the ground; for I have been a servant from my youth.”

6 And if someone asks him, “What are these wounds on your hands?” he will reply, “These are the wounds I received in the house of my friends.”
