The Book of the Prophet Micah 4 The Announcement of the Calling of the Gentiles

The Book of the Prophet Micah 4

The Announcement of the Calling of the Gentiles

But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

And many nations shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

And he shall judge between many people, and shall rebuke mighty nations afar off: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

But every man shall sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.

For all the peoples will walk, each in the name of its god; but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God, forever and ever.

In that day, declares the Lord, I will gather the lame, I will assemble those I had driven out, and those I had mistreated.

I will make the lame a remnant, and those who were thrown far away a mighty nation; and the Lord will reign over them on Mount Zion from this time forth and forevermore.

And to you, O tower of the flock, mountain of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come: yes, to you will come the first dominion, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.

And now, why do you make such great lamentation? Is there no king in you? Has your counsel perished? Has pain seized you, like a woman in labor?

Suffer pains and labors, O daughter of Zion, like one in labor, for now you will go out of the city and dwell in the field, and you will come to Babylon; there you will be delivered; there the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Now many nations are gathered against you, who say, “Let her be defiled, and our eyes shall see her spoil upon Zion.”

But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, nor do they understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like sheaves on a threshing floor.

Arise, and thresh, O daughter of Zion; for I will make your horn iron and your hooves bronze; you shall crush many peoples, and their gain shall be consecrated to the Lord, and their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
