Job 26
Job Rebukes Bildad and Extols the Power of God
Then Job answered and said:
How you have helped him who had no strength, and upheld the arm that had no might!
How you have counseled him who had no wisdom, and made known to him the cause, just as it was!
To whom have you spoken words? And whose spirit has gone out from you?
The dead tremble beneath the waters, with their inhabitants.
Sheol is naked before him, and destruction has no covering.
The north stretches out over empty space; it hangs the earth upon nothing.
He binds up the waters in thick clouds, and the cloud is not rent under them.
He covers the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud over it.
He has set a bound for the face of the waters round about, to the ends of light and darkness.
The pillars of the heavens tremble and are dismayed at his rebuke.
By his strength he divides the sea, and by his understanding he brings down its pride.
By his Spirit he adorns the heavens; his hand forms the coiling serpent.
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways; and how little do we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?
