Psalms 28
David prays to God to separate him from the wicked and praises him for hearing his pleas
To you I will cry, O Lord my Rock; do not be silent to me; lest, if you are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your sacred oracle.
Do not cast me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but evil is in their hearts.
Repay them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their efforts; give them according to the work of their hands; send them their recompense.
Because they have not regarded the works of the Lord, nor the work of his hands; therefore he will tear them down and not rebuild them.
Blessed be the Lord, for he has heard the voice of my supplications.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart rejoices, and with my song I will praise him.
The Lord is the strength of his people; he is also the saving strength of his anointed.
Save your people, and bless your inheritance; feed them and exalt them forever.
