Psalms 16
The Believer's Confidence and Happiness and the Assurance of Eternal Life
Keep me safe, O God, for I trust in You.
My soul said to the Lord, "You are my Lord; I have no good thing besides You."
I say to the saints who are on earth, and to the nobles, in whom is all my delight:
Sorrows will be multiplied to those who offer an offering to another god; I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, nor will I take their names on my lips.
The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; You maintain my lot.
The lines fall for me in pleasant places; yes, a goodly inheritance has fallen to me.
I will praise the Lord who has given me counsel; even my reins instruct me in the night.
I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall never be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also shall dwell in safety.
For you will not abandon my soul to hell, nor will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
