Job 18 Bildad accuses Job of presumption and impatience

 Job 18

Bildad accuses Job of presumption and impatience

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:

How long will you use trickery instead of words? Consider well, and then we will speak.

Why are we treated like animals, and as unclean in your eyes?

Oh, you who tear your soul in pieces in your anger, will the earth be left because of you? Will the rocks be removed from their place?

Surely the light of the wicked will be extinguished, and the spark of his house will not shine.

The light will be darkened in his tents, and his lamp will be put out over him.

His steps will be straitened, and his own counsel will bring him down.

For by his own feet he is cast into a net, and he will walk in snared cords.

The snare will catch him by the heel, and the robber will prevail against him.

A rope is hidden in the ground, and a trap in the path.

Terrors will terrify him all around, and he will run to and fro, wherever he runs.

His power will be hungry, and destruction is ready at his side.

It will devour the members of his body; yes, the firstborn of death will devour his members.

He will be torn from his tent, where he was trusted, and will be carried to the king of terrors.

He who was nothing to him will dwell in his tent; brimstone will be scattered over his dwelling.

His roots will dry up beneath, and his branches will be cut off above.

The memory of him will perish from the earth, and he will have no name in the streets.

They will drive him from the light into darkness, and chase him out of the world.

He will have neither son nor grandson among his people, and there will be no remnant of him in his dwellings.

Those who are coming will be terrified at his day, and those of old will be terrified.

Such indeed are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of those who do not know God.
