Psalms 75
The prophet praises God and promises to enforce justice
To you, O God, we give glory, to you we give thanks, for your name is near; your wondrous works declare.
When I occupy the place appointed, I will judge righteously.
The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved, but I have strengthened its pillars.
I said to the foolish, “Do not be foolish”; and to the wicked, “Do not lift up your horns.”
Do not lift up your horns haughtily, nor speak with stiff necks.
For neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the desert, does exaltation come.
But God is the judge; he puts down one and exalts another.
For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup whose wine boils, full of mixture, and he pours out from it; surely all the wicked of the earth will swallow and drink their dung.
But as for me, I will declare forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
And I will break all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.
