Psalm 104 The glory of God is manifested in the creation and preservation of all things

 Psalm 104

The glory of God is manifested in the creation and preservation of all things

Bless the Lord, O my soul: O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with glory and majesty.

He covers himself with light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

He lays the beams of his chambers in the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind.

He makes the winds his messengers, his ministers a flaming fire.

He laid the foundations of the earth, that it may not be moved at any time.

You cover it with the deep as with a garment; the waters were above the mountains;

At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they hastened.

They go up to the mountains, they go down to the valleys, to the place that you founded for them.

They go up to the mountains, they go down to the valleys, to the place that you founded for them. 9 You have set a boundary for them that they cannot cross, that they may not return to cover the earth.

You make springs gush forth in the valleys, that flow between the mountains.

They give drink to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst with it.

The birds of the air dwell near them, singing among the branches.

He waters the mountains from his chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of his works.

He causes grass to grow for the livestock, and vegetation for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth,

Wine to gladden the heart of man, and oil to make his face shine, and bread to strengthen his heart.

The trees of the Lord are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, her home is in the fir trees.

The high mountains are a refuge for the wild goats, and the rocks for the rabbits.

He appointed the moon for the seasons; the sun knows its fate.

You command darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest come out.

The young lions roar after their prey; they seek their food from God.

The sun rises, and they gather and lie down in their dens.

Then man goes forth to his work and to his labor until evening.

O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made all things; the earth is full of your riches.

Such is this vast and spacious sea, where creatures without number move about, both small and great.

Ships pass by; and leviathan, whom you formed to play in.

They all wait for you to give them their food in due season.

When you give it to them, they gather it; you open your hand, they are filled with good things.

You hide your face, they are troubled; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust.

You send out your Spirit, they are created; you renew the face of the earth.

The glory of the Lord endures forever; the Lord rejoices in his works!

He looks at the earth, and it trembles; he touches the mountains, and they smoke.

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God as long as I have being.

My meditation on him will be sweet; I will rejoice in the Lord.

Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul; praise the Lord.
