Psalms 52
David foretells the ruin of the wicked, and trusts in God
Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? For the goodness of God endures forever.
Your tongue devises evil like a sharp razor, devising deceit.
You love evil rather than good, and lies rather than speaking righteously.
You love all devouring words, O deceitful tongue.
God will also destroy you forever; he will tear you away and uproot you from your dwelling place, and uproot you from the land of the living.
The righteous will see it and fear, and will laugh at him.
Behold the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever, forever and ever.
I will praise you forever, because you have done this, and I will wait for your name, because it is good in the sight of your saints.
