Psalms 64
David pleads with God to spare his life, and hopes that He will grant it to him
Hear, O God, my voice in my prayer; deliver my life from the terror of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked, from the tumult of the workers of iniquity.
Who have sharpened their tongues like swords, and bent their arrows with bitter words,
To shoot from secret places at the upright; they shoot at him suddenly, and are not afraid.
They stand firm in evil devices; they speak of laying a trap in secret, and say, "Who will see them?"
They commit malicious wrath, they search out everything that can be searched out, even the inward parts of a man, and the inmost heart.
But God will shoot an arrow at them, and suddenly they will be wounded.
So they will turn their tongues against themselves; All who see them will flee.
And all men will fear, and will declare the work of God, and will consider his acts prudently.
The righteous will be glad in the Lord, and will trust in him, and all the upright in heart will rejoice.
