Nehemiah sets guards and makes a list of those who first came to Jerusalem

61 These also went up from Tel-melah: Telarsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but they could not show their fathers' houses or their lineage, whether they were of Israel.

62 The sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and forty-two.

63 And of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Coz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.

64 These sought their register, wanting to recite their generations, but it was not found; therefore, as unclean, they were excluded from the priesthood.

65 And the Tirshatha commanded them that they should not eat of the holy things, until a priest should be prepared with Urim and Thummim.

66 The whole congregation together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty.

67 Besides their male and female servants, who were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred and forty-five male and female singers.

68 Their horses were seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules were two hundred and forty-five.

69 Their camels were four hundred and thirty-five; and their asses were six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

70 And some of the chief fathers gave for the work: the Tirshatha gave to the treasury a thousand drachmas of gold, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priestly garments.

71 And some of the chief fathers gave to the treasury of the work twenty thousand drachmas of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver.

72 And the rest of the people gave twenty thousand drachmas of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver. and sixty-seven priestly garments.

73 And the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities.
