Song of Solomon 2
I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys.
As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
As an apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I greatly desire his shade, and I sit down under him; and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
Sustain me with raisins, comfort me with apples, for I am faint with love.
Let his left hand be under my head, and his right hand embrace me.
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken my love until it pleases.
This is the voice of my beloved: behold, he comes leaping over the mountains, leaping over the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag; behold, he stands behind our wall, looking in at the windows, shining through the lattice.
My beloved speaks and says to me, "Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come."
For, behold, the winter is past; the rain has stopped and gone.
The flowers appear in the earth, the time of singing is at hand, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
The fig tree has put forth her young figs, and the vines in blossom send forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come.
My dove, who wanders in the clefts of the rocks, in the secret places of the hills, show me your face; let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.
Catch me the foxes, the little foxes, that destroy the vineyards, because our vineyards are in bloom.
My beloved is mine, and I am his; he pastures his flock among the lilies.
Before the day breaks and the shadows fall, return, my beloved; be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of Bether.
