The whole duty of man is to fear God and keep his commandments.

10 The preacher sought to find pleasing words; and what is written is righteousness, words of truth.

11 The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed by the teachers of the congregations, given to us by the one Shepherd.

12 And besides this, my son, take note: there is no end to making books, and much studying is a weariness of the flesh.

13 From all that has been heard, the conclusion is: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
