Psalm 143
The Psalmist Prays for Deliverance from Enemies
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas; answer me in your truth and in your righteousness.
Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous in your sight.
For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has brought me down to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those who died long ago.
Therefore my spirit is in anguish within me, and my heart is desolate within me.
I remember the days of old; I consider all your deeds; I meditate on the work of your hands.
I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
Hear me quickly, O Lord; my spirit fails; Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear your lovingkindness in the morning, for in you I trust; make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; for in you I take refuge.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; let your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Revive me, O Lord, for your name's sake; for your righteousness' sake, bring my soul out of trouble.
And in your mercy root out my enemies, and destroy all who trouble my soul, for I am your servant.
