The Israelites smite the kings of Moab and Bashan.
20 And from Bamoth to the valley that is in the field of Moab, on the top of Pisgah, and in the sight of the wilderness.
21 And Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22 Let me pass through your land, we will not turn aside in the fields or in the vineyards, we will not drink the water of the wells; we will go on the royal road until we have passed over your borders.
23 But Sihon did not let Israel pass through his borders; and Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
24 And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from Arnon to Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was sure.
25 And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all their villages.
26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the king of Moab, and had taken all his land out of his hand in Arnon.
27 Therefore say they that speak in proverbs, Come to Heshbon; let the city of Sihon be built and fortified.
28 For fire is gone out from Heshbon, and a flame from the city of Sihon; and consumed the air of the Moabites, and the lords of the high places of the Arnon.
29 Woe to you, Moab! you are lost, people of Camos! And he gave his sons that fled, and his daughters, as captives unto Sihon king of the Amorites.
30 And we have cast it down: and Heshbon is lost unto Dibon, and we smite them unto Noph, which is as far as Medeba.
31 So Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.
32 And Moses commanded to spy out Jahzer, and they took their villages, and cast out the Amorites that were there from the possession thereof.
33 And they turned and went up the way to Bashan; and Og king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle in Edrei.
34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered thee into his hand, and to all his people, and to his land, and thou shalt do to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorites , who dwelt in Heshbon.
35 And they smote him and his sons, and all his people, so that none of them escaped: and they took their land for a possession.
