Deuteronomy 11
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his observance, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, every day.
And today ye shall know that I speak not with your children, which do not know, and have not seen the instruction of the LORD your God, his greatness, his strong hand, and his outstretched arm;
Neither his signs nor his deeds which he did in the midst of Egypt, and all his land;
Nor what he did to the army of the Egyptians, their horses, and their chariots, causing the waters of the Red Sea to pass over them as they pursued you: and the LORD has destroyed them to this day.
Nor what he did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place;
And what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab the son of Reuben: how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their houses and their tents, and all that remained and belonged to them; in the midst of all Israel;
For your eyes have seen all the great work that the Lord has done.
Keep therefore all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may work hard, and go in, and possess the land that ye shall possess;
And that you may prolong the days in the land which the Lord has sworn to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.
For the land which you come to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you came out, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, like a garden.
But the land which you shall possess is a land of mountains and valleys: the waters of the heavens shall drink the waters:
The land which the LORD your God cares for: the eyes of the LORD your God are continually upon it from the beginning to the end of the year.
