Deuteronomy 10
Exhortation to obedience
Now, O Israel, which is what the LORD your God asks of you, but fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD your God with all his heart and with all your soul,
To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
Behold, the heavens and the heavens of the heavens are the Lord your God, the earth and all that is therein.
Only the Lord took pleasure in thy fathers to love them: and he chose his seed after them from all peoples, as it is this day.
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and harden your neck no more.
For the Lord your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and terrible God, who hath no respect of persons, nor accepteth rewards:
Who does justice to the orphan and the widow, and loves the stranger by giving him bread and clothing.
Therefore you shall love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him. and thou shalt come unto him, and shalt swear by his name.
He is your praise and your God who has done to you these great and terrible things which your eyes have seen.
With seventy souls thy fathers went down into Egypt; And now the Lord your God has set you as the stars of the heavens in multitude.
