Jacob falls ill
1 It happened after these things, that said to Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick. So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim.
2 And a yield of Jacob, and said, Behold, your son Joseph comes to you. And effort is Israel, and sat on the bed.
3 And Jacob said to Joseph, God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful and multiply and have made thee a multitude of people, and I will give this land to thy seed after thee, for an everlasting possession.
5 And now, thy two sons, who were born in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon;
6 But your generation, which beget after them, shall be thine; after the name of their brothers they will be called in their inheritance.
7 Coming as I do from Padan, rachel me died in the land of Canaan in the way, while still stood a little way to come to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
8 And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?
9 And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me here. And he said, I pray you, bring them here, to bless them.
10 The eyes however, Israel were dim for age, could not see well; and brought them near to him, and kissed them, and embraced them.
