Genesis 48
Jacob blesses Joseph and the sons of
And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face; and lo, God hath made me see thy seed also.
And Joseph brought them out from his knees, and bowed down to the earth before his face.
And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand on the left of Israel, and Manasseh in his left hand on the right of Israel, and brought them near him.
But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it upon Ephraim's head, although it was smaller, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wisely, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
And he blessed Joseph and said, The God before whom go my fathers Abraham and Isaac, the God who has fed me since I was born until this day;
The angel who redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let them called my name, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and multiply like fish in the crowd, in the land.
Sell for Joseph that his father laid his right hand on Ephraim, it displeased him; and he took the hand of his father, to remove it from off the head of Ephraim will head to Manasseh.
And Joseph said to his father, Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.
But his father refused, and said; I know, my son, I know; he also shall be a people, and he also shall be great; However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh. And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die, but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.
And I have given you a piece of land more than to your brothers, which I took with my sword and with my bow hand of the Amorites.
