God speaks to Moses from the burning bush
And Moses was feeding the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock behind the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, Horeb.
appeared to him the angel of the Lord in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush; and looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
And Moses said, Now I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see God brandou him out of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am.
And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet; because the place where you are standing is holy ground.
And I said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob and Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God..
And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.
I am come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to make them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey; the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
And now, behold, the children of Israel cry has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people (the children of Israel) of Egypt.
And Moses said to God, Who am I to go to Pharaoh and bring Egypt the children of Israel?
And I said, Certainly I will be with you; and this shall be a sign that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and they say to me, What is your name? What shall I say to them?
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
And God said to Moses: Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob sent me to you, this is my name forever , and this is my memorial generation to generation.
Go, and gather the elders of Israel, and say unto them, O Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited and seen what you it is made in Egypt.
So I said: Far-I will give you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.
And shall hear thy voice; and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, the king of Egypt and say to him, behold, the LORD God of the Hebrews, met with us: Now therefore let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the Lord our God.
But I know that the king of Egypt had not let you go, not even by a strong hand.
I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof; then let you go.
And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians; and it will happen that when you go out, do not go empty,
But every woman shall ask her neighbor and you will her house silver vessels, and gold vessels, and gowns, shall put them on your sons and on your daughters; and shall spoil Egypt.
