The Book of the Prophet Isaiah 35
The Greatness and Glory of the Kingdom of the Messiah
The wilderness and the dry lands will be glad because of this; the desert will rejoice and blossom like the rose.
It will blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the Lord, the excellency of our God.
Strengthen the weak hands and strengthen the feeble knees.
Say to those who are of a fearful heart: 'Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with a recompense from God; he will come and save you.'
Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing. For in the wilderness waters will burst out, and streams in the desert.
The parched ground will become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water. In the dwellings of jackals, where they lay, there will be grass with reeds and rushes.
There will be a highway, a way that will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not pass through it, but it will be for those who walk, even fools, will not wander off.
No lion will be there, nor will any wild animal go up on it, nor will it be found there. But the redeemed will walk along it.
The ransomed of the Lord will return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
