The Book of the Prophet Isaiah 32
Behold, a King will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice.
And that man will be like a hiding place from the wind, and a refuge from the storm, like rivers of water in a dry place, and like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
And the eyes of those who see will not be backward, and the ears of those who hear will be attentive.
And the heart of the prudent will understand wisdom, and the tongue of those who stammer will be ready to speak clearly.
A fool will no longer be called liberal, and a greedy man will no longer be called generous.
For a fool speaks foolishly, and his heart practices iniquity, to practice hypocrisy and to utter errors against the Lord, to deprive the soul of the hungry and to cause the thirsty to lack drink.
Moreover, all the instruments of the covetous man are evil; he devises wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the poor speak uprightly.
But the liberal man devises liberal things, and by liberality he is upheld.
Arise, you women who are at ease, and hear my voice; and, you daughters who are at ease, incline your ears to my words.
For a year and days you will be troubled, you women who are at ease; because the vintage will fail, and the harvest will not come.
Tremble, you women who are at ease, and be troubled, you who are at ease: strip yourselves and make yourselves naked, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
They will strike their breasts upon the pleasant fields, and upon the fruitful vines.
Thorns and briers will come up upon the land of my people, upon all the houses of joy, in the city that rejoices with joy.
For the palace will be abandoned, the noise of the city will cease. Ophel and the watchtowers will become dens forever, a joy for wild donkeys and a pasture for cattle.
Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high. Then the wilderness will become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field will be reputed a forest.
Justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in the fruitful field.
The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the operation of justice quietness and trust forever.
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
But when hail descends on the forest, the city will be utterly destroyed.
Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who send out the feet of the ox and the donkey.
