The Book of the Prophet Isaiah 25
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for you have done wonderful things; your ancient counsels are truth and steadfast.
For you have made the city a heap, the fortified city a ruin, and the pit of strangers no longer a city, never to be built again.
Therefore a mighty people will glorify you, and the city of terrible nations will fear you.
For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in their distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the oppressors is like a storm against a wall.
Like heat in a dry place, you will bring down the fury of strangers; as heat is appeased by the shadow of a thick cloud, so the song of tyrants will be humbled.
And on this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of fattened animals, a feast of wines, of fattened marrow, and of wines, pure and well refined.
And on this mountain he will destroy the mask of the face, with which all peoples walk, and the veil with which all nations hide themselves.
He will destroy death forever, and the Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces, and he will take away the reproach of his people from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken.
And in that day it will be said: "Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us; this is the Lord, for whom we have waited; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest; but Moab will be trodden under it, as straw is trodden on a dunghill.
He will stretch out his hands among them, as a swimmer stretches out to swim; he will bring down their loftiness by the skill of his hands.
He will bring down the high fortresses of your walls; he will bring them down to the ground and bring them to the ground.
