Leviticus 16The sacrifice for the people15 And he shall slay the goat of the sin offering, which shall be for the people, and bring their blood into the veil; And he shall do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat.16 And he shall make an atonement for the sanctuary, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and of their transgressions, according to all their iniquities: and so shall he do unto the tabernacle of the congregation that dwelleth with them in the midst of their uncleanness.17 And no man shall be in the tabernacle of the congregation, when he goeth to make atonement in the sanctuary, until he goeth out: so shall he make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the congregation of Israel.18 And he went out to the altar, which is before the LORD, and made an atonement for him; And shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.19 And he shall sprinkle of that blood with his finger upon it seven times, and shall cleanse it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and sanctify it.20 And when the sanctuary and the tabernacle of the congregation have been made an atonement, and the altar, then he shall bring the live goat.21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, for all their sins: and he shall set them upon the head of the goat, and send And he shall cast it into the wilderness by the hand of a man appointed to it.22 And the goat shall bear all his iniquities unto the solitary land; And send the goat into the wilderness.23 And Aaron shall come to the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall strip off his linen garments, which he had clothed when he entered into the sanctuary, and shall leave them there.24 And he shall bathe his flesh in water in the holy place, and shall put on his garments; and he shall go out and prepare his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself and for the people.25 And he shall burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.26 And he that hath borne the goat (which was the goat that was sent), shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water; And afterward he shall enter into the camp.27 But the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be carried away from the camp: but their skins, their flesh, and their dung shall burn in the fire.28 And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water; And afterward he shall enter into the camp.
