Abraham denies that Sarah is his wife
And Abraham departed thence to the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur; and sojourned in Gerar.
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister sent Abimelech, king of Gerar, and took Sarah.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said unto him, Behold, thou art dead because of the woman you have taken; because she is married to her husband.
But Abimelech had not come near her; so the Lord said, will also kill a righteous nation?
did not tell me he is my sister? and she said, He is my brother. In sincerity of heart and purity of my hands I have done this.
And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this; and I also kept you from sinning against me; so I not allowed to touch it;
Now therefore restore the man's wife, for a prophet is, and will pray for you, that you may live; but if not restituíres, know that you shall surely die, you and all that you are.
And Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and spoke all these words in their ears; and men were sore afraid.
And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him: What have you done to us? and I have sinned against thee, brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You made me that ought not to have done.
And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What you have seen, to do such a thing?
And Abraham said, Because I thought: Surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me for the sake of my wife.
And in fact, she is also my sister, daughter of my father but not the daughter of my mother; and it became my wife.
And it came to making me God to wander from my father's house, I said to him: Let this be the grace that will show me around the place where we come from: say of me, you are my brother.
And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee, dwell where is good in your eyes.
And Sarah said, Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes to all that you are, and even with all the others; and you are warned.
And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his handmaids, and they bore children;
For God had closed all the wombs of Abimelech's house, because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.
