Genesis 32
Jacob passes over the ford Jabbok and fight with an angel
He got up that night and took his wives, and his two maidservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
And he took them, and sent them over the brook; and he sent over what he had.
Jacob was left alone however; and wrestled a man with him until the dawn ascended.
And seeing that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh, and the hollow of Jacob's thigh, fighting him.
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said Jacob.
And he said no more be called thy name Jacob, but Israel; for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.
And Jacob asked him, and said, Give me I pray thee, thy name. And I said, Why do you ask my name? And he blessed him there.
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
and goes out to you the sun when it came to Peniel; and he limped upon his thigh.
Therefore the children of Israel do not eat shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, to this day; because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in shrank.
