The vision of Jacob's ladder
10 So she went Jacob from Beersheba, and went toward Haran
11 And he came to a place where he spent the night, because the sun was set; and he took one of the stones of that place, and put on his head, and lay down in that place,
12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set up on the earth, whose top reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it;
13 And behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land on which you lie ta give to you and your seed shall:
14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and spread abroad to the west and the east, and north and south, and in thee and thy seed shall be blessed all the nations of the earth families:
15 And behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring thee again into this land: for I will not leave you until I have done to you what I have said.
16 Waking up as Jacob from his sleep, he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I did not know.
17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God; and this is the gate of heaven.
