The Officers and Judges

29 Of the Isharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed over Israel for the outside work, as officers and judges.

30 Of the Hebronites, Hesabiah and his brothers, valiant men, one thousand seven hundred, who had charge of the offices in Israel from this side of the Jordan westward, in all the work of the Lord and in the service of the king.

31 Of the Hebronites, Jeriah was the leader of the Hebronites, according to their ancestral lineages. In the fortieth year of the reign of David, they sought out and found among them valiant men in Jaezer of Gilead.

32 And their brothers, valiant men, two thousand seven hundred, heads of the ancestral lines. King David appointed them over the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for all the affairs of God and for all the king's affairs.

Os oficiais e os juízes

29 Dos Isaritas, Quenanias e seus filhos foram postos sobre Israel para a obra de fora, por oficiais e por juízes.

The Keepers of the Treasures

20 As for the Levites, Ahijah was in charge of the treasures of the house of God and of the treasures of the holy things.

22 The sons of Jehieli: Zetham and Joel his brother. They were in charge of the treasures of the house of the Lord.

Duties of the Gatekeepers

1 As for the divisions of the gatekeepers, of the Korahites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

2 The sons of Meshelemiah were: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebediah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

3 Elam the fifth, Johanan the sixth, Elionai the seventh.

4 The sons of Obed-Edom were: Shemaiah the firstborn, Josabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth; for God had blessed him.

7 The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, with their brothers, mighty men of valor, Elihu and Shemakiah.

8 All these were of the sons of Obed-Edom, they and their sons and their brothers, mighty men of valor for the service: in all, sixty-two of Obed-Edom.

13 And they cast lots, both small and great, according to their fathers' houses, for each gate.

14 And the lot for the east fell to Shelemiah; and the lot was cast for his son Zechariah, a wise counselor, and he had the lot for the north.

15 And the lot for the south to Obed-Edom, and his sons the treasury.

16 And Shuppim and Hosah on the west, with the gate of Salecheth, by the way of the ascent: one guard opposite the other.

17 And on the east were six Levites: on the north four a day, and on the south four a day, and at the treasury two by two.

18 And at Parbar on the west, four by the way, and two by Parbar.

1 Quanto às divisões dos porteiros, dos coraitas foi Meselemias, filho de Coré, dos filhos de Asafe.

2 E foram os filhos de Meselemias: Zacarias o primogênito, Jediael o segundo, Zebedias o terceiro, Jatniel o quarto.

3 Elão o quinto, Joanã  o sexto, Elionai o sétimo.

4 E os filhos de Obede-Edom foram: Semaías o primogênito, Josabade o segundo, Joá o terceiro, e Sacar o quarto e Natanael o quinto,

5 Amiel o sexto, Issacar o sétimo, Peuletai o oitavo: porque Deus o tinha abençoado.

6 Também a seu filho Semaías nasceram filhos, que dominaram sobre a casa de seu pai; porque foram varões valentes.

7 Os filhos de Semaías: Otni, e Refael e Obede, e Elzabade, com seus irmãos, homens valentes, Eliú e Semaquias.

8 Todos estes foram dos filhos de Obede-Edom; eles e seus filhos, e seus irmãos, homens valentes de força para o ministério: por todos sessenta e dois, de Obede-Edom.

15 E a Obede-Edom a do sul: e a seus filhos a casa das tesourarias.

7 और उनके भाइयोंसमेत जो यहोवा का गीत सीखे हुए थे, और सब सब मिलाकर उनकी गिनती दो सौ अट्ठासी थी।

The Role of the Singers in Their Shifts

1 David, together with the captains of the army, set apart for the service the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, to prophesy with harps, lyres, and psalteries. This was the number of men who were able to do the work of their service.

2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph; they were in charge of Asaph, who prophesied under the hand of King David.

3 As for Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun were Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, and Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six; they were in charge of their father Jeduthun, to play the harps, and he prophesied, praising and giving thanks to the Lord.

4 As for Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukijah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romanti-ezer, Josbekasha, Mahlothi, Hothir, and Maazioth. 

5 All these were the sons of Heman, the king's seer in the words of God, to exalt the trumpet. God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. 

6 All these were beside their father in the song of the house of the Lord, with satires, lyres, and harps, for the service of the house of God. And beside the king were Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. 

7 And the number of them, together with their brothers who were instructed in the song of the Lord, all of them teachers, was two hundred and eighty-eight. 

8 And they cast lots for the guard equally, both small and great, teacher and student. 

9 So the first lot came out for Asaph, namely, Joseph; the second for Gedaliah; he and his brothers and his sons, twelve in all.

10 The third for Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

11 The fourth for Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

12 The fifth for Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

13 The sixth for Bukijah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

14 The seventh for Jesarelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

5 Todos estes filhos de Hemã, o vidente do rei nas palavras de Deus, para exaltar a corneta. Deus dera a Hemã catorze filhos e três filhas.

6 Todos estes estavam ao lado de seu pai para o canto da casa do Senhor, com satérios, alaúdes e harpas, para o ministério da casa de Deus, e, ao lado do rei, Asafe, Jedutum, e Hemã.

David Divides the Priests into Twenty-Four Divisions

1 As for the sons of Aaron, these were their divisions: the sons of Aaron were Nadab, and Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2 Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered as priests.

3 And David divided them, and Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their office in their ministry.

4 And it was found that the sons of Eleazar among the heads of fathers' houses were more than the sons of Ithamar, when they were divided: of the sons of Eleazar sixteen heads of their fathers' houses, and of the sons of Ithamar, eight according to their fathers' houses.

5 And they divided them by lot, one with another; for there were rulers of the sanctuary and rulers of the house of God, both from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar.

6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethanel, the scribe of the Levites, registered them before the king and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' houses among the priests and among the Levites: one of the fathers' houses was taken for Eleazar, and the other was taken for Ithamar. 7 And the first lot went out to Joiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

2 E morreram Nadabe e Abiú antes de seu pai, e não tiveram filhos: e Eleazar e Itamar administravam o sacerdócio.

3 E Davi os repartiu, como também a Zadoque, dos filhos de Eleazar, e a Aquimeleque, dos filhos de Itamar, segundo o seu ofício no seu ministério.

1 Now David was old and full of days, and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

2 And he assembled all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

3 And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward, and their number, according to their heads, was thirty-eight thousand men.

4 Of these there were twenty-four thousand to do the work of the house of the LORD, and six thousand officers and judges.

5 And four thousand were doorkeepers, and four thousand were to praise the LORD with the instruments that I made for praise, said David.

6 And David divided them by divisions according to the sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

7 Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.

8 The sons of Ladan; Jeiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Aram, three: these were the chief of the fathers of Ladan.

10 And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, and Jeush, and Beriah: these were the sons of Shimei, four.

11 And Jahath was the chief, and Ziza the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons: therefore they were numbered in their fathers' house as one family.

12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was set apart to sanctify the most holy place, he and his sons, for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister unto him, and to give the blessing in his name for ever. 14 As for Moses the man of God, his sons were numbered among the tribe of Levi.

15 Now the sons of Moses were Gershon and Eliezer.

16 Of the sons of Gershon, Shebuel was the chief.

17 And of the sons of Eliezer, Rehabiah was the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah multiplied greatly.

18 Of the sons of Izhar, Shelomith was the chief.

19 As for the sons of Hebron, Jeriah was the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

20 As for the sons of Uzziel, Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.

21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; and the sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and the sons of Kish, his brothers, took them as wives.

23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.

24 These are the sons of Levi, by their fathers' houses, heads of the fathers' houses, as they were numbered by the number of names, according to their heads who did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.

25 For David said, "The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem forever."

26 And as for the Levites, they were not to carry the tabernacle or any of its articles pertaining to its service any more.

27 For according to the last words of David, the sons of Levi were numbered from twenty years old and upward.

28 For their office was to be at the command of the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, and in the purification of all the holy things, and in the work of the service of the house of God:

 29 namely, for the shewbread, and for the fine flour, for the meat offering, and for the unleavened wafers, and for the pans, and for the parched meat, and for all measure and measurables; 

30 and to stand every morning to praise and to celebrate the Lord, and likewise at evening; 

31 and for every offering of the burnt offerings of the Lord, on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts, by number, according to their custom, continually before the Lord: 

32 and to keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the Lord.

1 Sendo pois Davi já velho, e cheio de dias, fez a Salomão seu filho rei sobre Israel.

2 E ajuntou a todos os príncipes de Israel, como também aos sacerdotes e levitas.

3 E foram contados os levitas de trinta anos e daí para cima: e foi o número deles, segundo as suas cabeças, trinta e oito mil homens.

4 Destes havia vinte e quatro mil, para promoverem a obra da casa do Senhor, e seis mil oficiais e juízes.

5 E quatro mil porteiros, e quatro mil para louvarem ao Senhor com os instrumentos, que eu fiz para o louvar, disse Davi.

6 E Davi os repartiu por turnos, segundo os filhos de Levi, Gérson, Coate e Merári.

7 Dos gersonitas: Ladã e Simei.

8 Os filhos de Ladã; Jeiel o chefe, e Zetão, e Joel, três.

29 A saber: para os pães da proposição, e para a flor de farinha, para a oferta de manjares, e para os coscorões asmos, e para as sertãs, e para o tostado, e para toda a medida e mensura;

30 E para estarem cada manhã em pé para louvarem e celebrarem ao Senhor, e semelhantemente à tarde;

31 E para cada oferecimento dos holocaustos do Senhor, nos sábados, nas luas novas, e nas solenidades, por conta, segundo o seu costume, continuamente perante o Senhor.

32 E para que tivessem cuidado da guarda da tenda da congregação, e da guarda do santuário, e da guarda dos filhos de Aarão, seus irmãos, no ministério da casa do Senhor.

1 और दाऊद ने कहा, यह यहोवा परमेश्वर का भवन होगा, और इस्राएल के लिथे होमबलि की वेदी यही ठहरेगी।

2 और दाऊद ने आज्ञा दी, कि इस्राएल के देश में रहनेवाले परदेशियोंको इकट्ठे किया जाए; और उस ने लोहा काटनेवालोंको आज्ञा दी, कि परमेश्वर का भवन बनाएं।

3 और दाऊद ने प्रवेशद्वारोंकी कीलोंऔर जोड़ोंके लिथे बहुत सा लोहा तैयार किया, और बिना तोल का बहुत सा तांबा भी तैयार किया;

4 और असंख्य देवदार की लकड़ी, क्योंकि सीदोनी और टायरी लोग दाऊद के लिये बहुत सी देवदार की लकड़ी लाते थे।

6 तब उस ने अपके पुत्र सुलैमान को बुलाकर इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिथे एक भवन बनाने की आज्ञा दी।

12 यहोवा तुम को केवल विवेक और समझ दे, और इस्राएल के विषय में शिक्षा दे; और यह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर यहोवा की व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिये है।

13 तब तू कृतार्थ होगा, और यदि उन विधियोंऔर नियमोंके मानने में चौकसी करेगा, जो यहोवा ने इस्राएल के विषय में मूसा को दी यी, तो हियाव बान्ध और दृढ़ हो; मत डरो, न घबराओ।

14 देख, मैं ने अन्धेर करके यहोवा के भवन के लिये एक लाख किक्कार सोना, और दस लाख किक्कार चान्दी, और तांबा, और भारहीन लोहा तैयार किया है, क्योंकि वह बहुत है; मैं ने लकड़ी और पत्थर भी तैयार किए हैं, और जो घटी है उसे तू पूरा करता है।

David Prepares to Build the Temple

1 And David said, This shall be the house of the Lord God, and this shall be the altar of burnt offering for Israel.

2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel: and he appointed stonecutters to build the house of God.

3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates, and for the joints; and copper in abundance without weight;

4 And cedar timber without number: for the Sidonians and the Tyrians brought David cedar timber in abundance.

5 For David said, Solomon my son is yet young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands: therefore I will now prepare materials for it. So David prepared materials in abundance before his death.

6 Then he called Solomon his son and told him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.

7 And David said to Solomon, “My son, as for me, it was in my heart to build a house for the name of the Lord my God.

8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed blood abundantly and have fought great wars. You shall not build a house for my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth before me.

9 Behold, the son that is born will be a man of rest; for I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; therefore his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.

10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.

11 Now therefore, my son, the Lord be with you; and prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as he promised you.

12 Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and may he instruct you concerning Israel, and that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.

13 Then you will prosper, if you are careful to do the statutes and the judgments that the Lord commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous; do not fear or be dismayed.

14 See, in my oppression I have prepared for the house of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a million talents of silver, and of copper and iron without weight, for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone, and you supply what is lacking.

15 You also have with you a multitude of mechanics, cutters and craftsmen in stone and wood, and all kinds of skilled workers in all kinds of work. 

16 Of the gold, of the silver, of the brass, and of the iron there is no number: arise, and do the work; and the LORD is with thee. 

17 And David commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 

18 Is not the LORD your God with you, and hath he not given you rest all around? for he hath delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. 

19 Now therefore set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; and arise, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, that the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, may be brought into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.

1 E disse Davi: Esta será a casa do Senhor Deus, e este será o altar do holocausto para Israel.

2 E deu ordem Davi que se ajuntassem os estranhos que estavam na terra de Israel: e ordenou cortadores de pedras de cantaria, para edificar a casa de Deus.

3 E aparelhou Davi ferro em abundância, para os pregos das portas das entradas, e para as junturas: como também cobre em abundância, sem peso;

4 E madeira de cedro sem conta: porque os sidônios e tirios traziam a Davi madeira de cedro em abundância.

5 Porque dizia Davi: Salomão, meu filho, ainda é moço e tenro, e a casa que se há de edificar para o Senhor se há de fazer magnífica em excelência, para nome e glória em todas as terras; eu pois agora lhe prepararei materiais. Assim preparou Davi materiais em abundância, antes de sua morte.

6 Então chamou a Salomão seu filho, e lhe ordenou que edificasse uma casa ao Senhor Deus de Israel.

7 E disse Davi a Salomão: Filho meu, quanto a mim, tive em meu coração o edificar casa ao nome do Senhor meu Deus.

8 Porém a mim a palavra do Senhor veio, dizendo: Tu derramaste sangue em abundância, e fizeste grandes guerras; não edificarás casa ao meu nome porquanto muito sangue tens derramado na terra, perante minha face.

9 Eis que o filho que nascer será homem de repouso; porque repouso lhe hei de dar de todos os seus inimigos em redor; portanto Salomão será o seu nome, e paz e descanso darei a Israel nos seus dias.

10 Este edificará casa ao meu nome, e ele me será por filho, e eu a ele por pai; e confirmarei o trono de seu reino sobre Israel, para sempre.

11 Agora pois, meu filho, o Senhor seja contigo; e prospera, e edifica a casa do Senhor teu Deus, como ele disse a ti.

12 O Senhor te dê tão-somente prudência e entendimento, e te instrua acerca de Israel; e isso para guardar a lei do Senhor teu Deus.

13 Então prosperarás, e se tiveres cuidado de fazer os estatutos e os juízos, que o Senhor mandou a Moisés acerca de Israel: esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo; não temas, nem tenhas pavor.

14 Eis que na minha opressão preparei para a casa do Senhor cem mil talentos de ouro, e um milhão de talentos de prata, e de cobre e de ferro sem peso, porque em abundância é: também madeira e pedras preparei, e tu supre o que faltar.

15 Também tens contigo oficiais mecânicos em multidão, cortadores e artífices em obra de pedra e madeira; e toda a sorte de sábios em toda a sorte de obra.

16 Do ouro, da prata, e do cobre, e do ferro não há números: levanta-te pois e faze a obra e o Senhor é contigo.

17 E Davi deu ordem a todos os príncipes de Israel que ajudassem a Salomão, seu filho, dizendo:

18 Porventura não está convosco o Senhor vosso Deus, e não vos deu repouso em roda? Porque tem entregado na minha mão os moradores da terra; e a terra foi sujeita perante o Senhor e perante o seu povo.

19 Disponde pois agora o vosso coração e a vossa alma para buscardes ao Senhor vosso Deus; e levantai-vos, e edificai o santuário do Senhor Deus para que a arca do concerto do Senhor, e os vasos sagrados de Deus se tragam a esta casa, que se há de edificar ao nome do Senhor.
