The Book of the Prophet Joel 2
Promise of Abundance
Then the Lord will be zealous for his land and have compassion on his people.
The Lord will answer and say to his people: “I am sending you grain, new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied with them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
I will drive the northerner far from you and drive him into a dry and desolate land, his vanguard toward the eastern sea and his rear guard toward the western sea. His stench will rise, and his foul odor will ascend, because he has done great things.
Do not fear, land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things.”
Do not be afraid, you animals of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness will turn green, for the trees will bear their fruit, the vine and the fig tree will yield their strength.
And you, children of Zion, rejoice and be glad in the Lord your God, for he will give you a teacher of righteousness, and he will send down rain for you, the early and the latter rain, in the first month.
And the threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust, the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the sooty locust have eaten, my great army that I sent among you.
And you shall eat abundantly and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people shall no longer be put to shame.
And you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and there is no one else; and my people will never again be put to shame.
