The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel 36 Prophecy Made to the Mountains of Israel

 The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel 36

Prophecy Made to the Mountains of Israel

And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.

Thus says the Lord God: Because the enemy says concerning you, “Aha! Aha! Even the eternal heights shall be our inheritance”;

Therefore, prophesy, and say: Thus says the Lord God: Because they have laid you waste and devoured you on every side, so that you have become an inheritance for the remnant of the nations, and you are led astray by gossiping lips and by the infamy of the people.

Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate and deserted places, and to the forsaken cities, which have become plunder and scorn to the remnant of the nations that are around them;

Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Surely in the fire of my zeal I have spoken against the remnant of the nations, and against all of Edom, who have taken possession of my land with joy of heart and contempt of soul, to be given over to plunder;

Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, to the streams and valleys: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I have spoken in my zeal and in my fury, because you have borne the reproach of the nations.

Therefore, thus says the Lord God: I have lifted up my hand, that the nations that are round about you may bear their reproach upon themselves.

But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall bring forth your branches, and bear your fruit for my people Israel; for they are about to come.

For behold, I am with you; And I will turn to you, and you will be plowed and sown.

And I will multiply men upon you, even the whole house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt.

And I will multiply men and beast upon you, and they shall multiply and be fruitful: and I will cause you to dwell as in former times, and I will make your state better than in your beginnings; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

And I will cause men, my people Israel, to walk upon you; they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall never again bereave them of their children.

Thus says the Lord God: Because they say to you, “You are a land that bereaves its people of their children,”

Therefore you shall no longer devour men, nor bereave your people of their children, says the Lord God.

And I will cause the reproach of the heathen to be heard in thee no more: neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more; neither shalt thou bereave thy nation of children any more, saith the Lord God.
