स्वर्ग का सच्चा नागरिक

1 हे प्रभु, तेरे तम्बू में कौन रहेगा? तेरे पवित्र पर्वत पर कौन निवास करेगा?

2 जो धर्म से चलता और धर्म के काम करता और हृदय से सच बोलता है,

3 जो अपनी जीभ से चुगली नहीं करता, न अपने पड़ोसी की बुराई करता, न अपने पड़ोसी की निन्दा सहता है,

4 उनकी दृष्टि में निकम्मा मनुष्य तुच्छ जाना जाता है; परन्तु यहोवा के डरवैयों का आदर करो; वह जो अपने लिए हानिकर शपथ लेने पर भी नहीं बदलता।

5 जो अपना धन ब्याज पर नहीं देता, और न निर्दोष से घूस लेता है, जो कोई ऐसा करेगा, वह कभी नहीं डगमगाएगा।

1 O Lord, who may abide in your tabernacle? Who may dwell in your holy mountain?

2 He who walks blamelessly, and works righteousness, and speaks truthfully in his heart;

3 He who does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;

4 In whose eyes the reprobate is despised, but honors those who fear the Lord; who, though he swears to his own detriment, does not change.

5 He who does not lend his money at usury, nor takes a bribe against the innocent; he who does these things will never be shaken.

4 Aquele a cujos olhos o réprobo é desprezado; mas honra os que temem ao Senhor; aquele que, mesmo que jure com dano seu, não muda.

5 Aquele que não empresta o seu dinheiro com usura, nem recebe peitas contra o inocente; quem faz isto nunca será abalado.

1 मूर्ख ने अपने मन में कहा है, “कोई परमेश्‍वर नहीं है।” वे भ्रष्ट हो गये हैं, उन्होंने घृणित काम किये हैं; कोई भी ऐसा नहीं है जो अच्छा करता है।

2 यहोवा ने स्वर्ग से मनुष्यों पर दृष्टि की, कि देखे कि क्या कोई समझदार और परमेश्वर को खोजने वाला है?

3 वे सब के सब भटक गए हैं, वे सब मिलकर गन्दे हो गए हैं; कोई भी ऐसा नहीं जो अच्छा काम करता हो, एक भी नहीं।

4 क्या कुटिल लोग नहीं जानते, कि वे मेरी प्रजा को रोटी की नाईं खा जाते हैं? वे प्रभु को नहीं पुकारते।

5 वहाँ उन्हें बड़ा भय मिला; क्योंकि परमेश्वर धर्मी लोगों की पीढ़ी में रहता है।

1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They have become corrupt, they have done abominable things; there is no one who does good.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought God.

3 They have all turned aside, they have together become filthy; there is no one who does good, no, not one.

4 Do not the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they eat bread? They do not call on the Lord.

5 There they were in great terror, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

6 You have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is their refuge.

7 Oh, that the redemption of Israel had come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be glad.

The Falsehood of Man and the Truthfulness of God

1 Save us, O Lord, for men speak kindly; for the faithful are few among the sons of men.

2 Every man speaks falsely to his neighbor; they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.

3 The Lord will cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proudly.

4 For they say, "With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are ours: who is the Lord over us?"

5 Because of the oppression of the poor, and the sighing of the needy, I will now arise, says the Lord; I will rescue him on whom they breathe.

6 The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 You will preserve them, O Lord; you will deliver them from this generation forever.

8 The wicked go about on every side, when the vilest of the sons of men are exalted.

God saves the upright and punishes the wicked

1 I trust in the Lord; how can you say to my soul, "Flee like a bird to your mountain"?

2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.

3 Surely the foundations are overturned; what can the righteous do?

4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord's throne is in heaven; his eyes are watching, his eyelids testing the children of men.

5 The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and those who love violence.

6 He will rain snares on the wicked, fire and brimstone, and a stormy wind: this is the portion of their cup.

7 For the Lord is righteous and loves justice; his face is toward the upright.

The Boldness of Persecutors, and the Refuge of God

1 Why do you stand far away, O Lord? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

2 The wicked in their arrogance pursue the poor; let them be caught in the snares they have devised.

3 For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire; he blesses the greedy, but blasphemes the Lord.

4 Because of his pride, the wicked does not seek; all his thoughts are, "There is no God."

5 His ways are always tormenting; your judgments are far from him, on a great height; he despises his adversaries.

6 He says in his heart, "I will not be moved, for I will never be in trouble."

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and craftiness; Under his tongue is mischief and evil.

 8 He stands in the thickets of the villages; in secret places he kills the innocent; his eyes are hidden on the poor. 

9 He lies in wait in secret places, like a lion in his den; he lies in wait to rob the poor; he takes them captive in his net. 

10 He crouches and stoops, so that the poor may fall into his strong grasp.

 11 He says in his heart, "God has forgotten; he has covered his face, and he will never see."

 12 Arise, O Lord; lift up your hand, O God; do not forget the needy. 

13 Why does the wicked blaspheme God, saying in his heart, "You will not inquire?" 

14 You have seen it, because you look on toil and trouble, to take them under your hand; the poor commit themselves to you; You are the help of the fatherless.

15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer; search out his wickedness until you find none.

16 The Lord is King forever; the nations will be cut off from his land.

17 O Lord, you have heard the desire of the meek; you will strengthen their hearts; your ears will be open to them;

18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth will no longer use violence.

17 दुष्ट लोग नरक में चले जायेंगे, और वे सब लोग जो परमेश्वर को भूल जाते हैं।

18 क्योंकि दरिद्र लोग सदा बिसरे हुए न रहेंगे; और न दरिद्रों की आशा सर्वदा नाश होगी।

19 हे यहोवा, उठ! मनुष्य को प्रबल न होने दो; राष्ट्रों का न्याय तुम्हारे सामने किया जाए।

20 हे यहोवा, हम को भयभीत कर, कि जातियां जान लें कि वे मनुष्य ही हैं।

Thanksgiving for a Great Deliverance

1I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

3 For my enemies are turned back and fallen; they perish before you.

4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you sit in judgment, judging righteously.

5 You have rebuked the nations; you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 O enemy, the desolations are complete; you have laid waste the cities, and their memory has perished with them.

7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has prepared his judgment seat for judgment.

8 He himself will judge the world with righteousness; he will judge the peoples with equity.

9 The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, O Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; declare his deeds among the peoples.

12 For he inquires about bloodshed, and remembers it; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Have mercy on me, O Lord, and see how those who hate me bring me to grief, you who lift me up from the gates of death.

14 That I may declare all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, and rejoice in your salvation.

15 The nations have fallen into the pit they dug; their foot is caught in the net they hid.

16 The Lord is known by the judgment he executes; the wicked is snared by his own doings. 17 The wicked will be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

18 For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor will the expectation of the poor perish forever.

19 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you.

20 Put us in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know that they are but men.
