The Book of the Prophet Isaiah 62
The Glory of Jerusalem Ever Increasing
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines forth like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
No longer will they call you Forsaken, or call your land Desolate; but you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord delights in you, and your land will be married.
For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.
O Jerusalem! I have set watchmen on your walls; they shall never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, do not be silent,
nor be silent till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise in the earth.
The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: “Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies, nor will strangers drink the new wine for which you have toiled.
But those who gather it shall eat it and praise the Lord; those who harvest it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.
Go through, go through the gates; Prepare the way for the people: level, level the road, clear it of stones: raise a banner for the peoples.
Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the ends of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”
And they shall be called The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called The Sought After, The City Not Forsaken.
