Salmos 76 A majestade e o poder de Deus

Salmos 76

3 Ali quebrou as flechas do arco; o escudo, e a espada, e a guerra.

Psalms 75 The prophet praises God and promises to enforce justice

 Psalms 75

The prophet praises God and promises to enforce justice

1 To you, O God, we give glory, to you we give thanks, for your name is near; your wondrous works declare.

2 When I occupy the place appointed, I will judge righteously.

3 The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved, but I have strengthened its pillars.

4 I said to the foolish, “Do not be foolish”; and to the wicked, “Do not lift up your horns.”

5 Do not lift up your horns haughtily, nor speak with stiff necks.

6 For neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the desert, does exaltation come.

7 But God is the judge; he puts down one and exalts another.

8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup whose wine boils, full of mixture, and he pours out from it; surely all the wicked of the earth will swallow and drink their dung.

9 But as for me, I will declare forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 And I will break all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.

Salmos 75 O profeta louva a Deus e promete fazer observar a justiça

Salmos 75

O profeta louva a Deus e promete fazer observar a justiça

5 Não levanteis a vossa fronte altiva, nem faleis com cerviz dura;

Psalms 74 The Desolation of the Sanctuary, and a Prayer that God would Remember His Afflicted People

 Psalms 74

The Desolation of the Sanctuary, and a Prayer that God would Remember His Afflicted People

1 O God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger burn against the sheep of your pasture?

2 Remember your congregation, whom you bought of old, your inheritance, which you redeemed, this mountain of Zion, where you dwelt.

3 Stand up against the perpetual desolations, against all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.

4 Your enemies roar in the midst of the holy places; they set their signs on them as signs.

5 They are like a man who swings his axe through the thicket of trees.

6 Behold, they break down every carved work with axes and hammers.

7 They have cast fire into your sanctuary; they have defiled it, tearing down to the ground the dwelling place of your name.

8 They have cast fire into your sanctuary; they have defiled it, the dwelling place of your name.  They said in their hearts, “Let us destroy them at once.” They have burned all the holy places of God in the land.

9 We no longer see our signs, and there is no prophet; there is no one among us who knows how long this will last.

10 How long, O God, will the adversary reproach us? Will the enemy blaspheme your name forever?

11 Why do you withdraw your hand, even your right hand? Take it out of your bosom and consume them.

12 Yet God is my King from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 You divided the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the monsters of the waters.

14 You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, and gave him as food to the inhabitants of the wilderness.

15 You divided the spring and the brook; you dried up the mighty rivers.

16 The day is yours, and the night is yours; you have prepared the light and the sun.

17 You have set all the boundaries of the earth; you have formed summer and winter.

18 Remember this: that the enemy has defied the Lord, and that a foolish people have blasphemed your name.

19 Do not give the life of your turtledove to the wild beasts; do not forget the life of your afflicted forever.

20 Consider your covenant, for the dark places of the earth are full of the dens of cruelty.

21 Oh, let not the oppressed return in shame; let the afflicted and needy praise your name.

22 Arise, O God, plead your own cause; remember the reproach that the foolish man heaps upon you every day.

23 Do not forget the cry of your enemies; the tumult of those who rise up against you increases continually.

16 Teu é o dia e tua é a noite: preparaste a luz e o sol.

16 जब मैंने इसे समझने की सोची, तो मैं बहुत परेशान हो गया;

Psalms 73 The prosperity of the wicked makes one doubt the justice of God, but their end proves it

 Psalms 73

The prosperity of the wicked makes one doubt the justice of God, but their end proves it

1 Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

2 As for me, my feet had almost slipped; my steps had almost slipped.

3 For I was envious of the proud, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there is no distress in their death, but their strength is firm.

5 They are not in trouble like other people, nor are they afflicted like other men.

6 Therefore pride surrounds them like a necklace; they clothe themselves with violence as with an ornament.

7 Their eyes are swollen with fatness; the imaginations of their hearts are great.

8 They are corrupt, and deal maliciously in oppression; they speak arrogantly.

9 They lift up their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue roams through the earth.

10 Therefore his people return here, and waters of a full cup are wrung out for them.

11 And they say, How does God know? Or is there knowledge in the Most High?

12 Behold, these are wicked men; yet they are always secure, and their riches increase.

13 Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency.

14 For all day long I have been afflicted, and chastened every morning.

15 If I had said, I will speak thus also; behold, I would offend the generation of your children.

16 When I thought to understand this, I was greatly troubled;

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God: then I understood their end.

18 Surely you set them in slippery places; you cast them down to destruction.

19 How they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 As when one wakes up in a dream, so, O Lord, when you awake, you will despise their appearance.

21 So my heart has grown sour, and my kidneys are pricked.

22 So I have become brutish and ignorant, like an animal before you.

23 Yet I am continually with you; you hold my right hand.

24 You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is no one on earth that I desire besides you.

26 My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.

27 For, behold, those who are far from you will perish; you have destroyed all who turn away from you.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, to proclaim all his works.

11 E dizem: Como o sabe Deus?

16 Quando pensava em compreender isto, fiquei sobremodo perturbado;

25 A quem tenho eu no céu senão a ti?

Psalms 72 The excellence, justice, and glory of Solomon's kingdom prefigure those of the Messiah

 Psalms 72

The excellence, justice, and glory of Solomon's kingdom prefigure those of the Messiah

1 Give your judgments to the king, O God, and your righteousness to the king's son.

2 He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

3 The mountains will bring peace to the people, and the hills with justice.

4 He will judge the afflicted among the people, he will save the children of the needy, and he will break in pieces the oppressor.

5 They will fear you as long as the sun and the moon endure, from generation to generation.

6 He will come down like rain on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.

7 In his days the righteous will flourish, and abundance of peace as long as the moon endures.

8 He will rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

9 Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow down before him, and his enemies will lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and the isles will bring gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts.

11 All kings will bow down before him; all nations will serve him.

12 For he will deliver the needy when he cries, the afflicted and those who have no one to help them.

13 He will have compassion on the poor and the afflicted, and will save the lives of the needy.

14 He will redeem their lives from deceit and violence, and precious will be their blood in his sight.

15 And he will live, and they will give him some of the gold of Seba; prayer will be made for him continually, and he will be blessed every day.

16 There will be an handful of grain in the land on the tops of the mountains; His fruit will be shaken like Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.

17 His name will endure forever; his name will go forth from father to son as long as the sun endures; and men will be blessed in him; all nations will call him blessed.

18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonderful things.

19 And blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

20 Here ends the prayers of David son of Jesse.

Salmos 72 A excelência, justiça e glória do reino de Salomão prefiguram as do Messias

Salmos 72

Psalms 71 David trusts in God, and prays to him to deliver him from his enemies, and to protect him

 Psalms 71

David trusts in God, and prays to him to deliver him from his enemies, and to protect him

1 In you, O Lord, I trust; let me never be put to shame.

2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline your ear to me, and save me.

3 Be my stronghold, to which I may continually resort: you have given a commandment to save me; for you are my rock and my fortress.

4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the hand of the unjust and cruel man.

5 For you are my hope, O Lord God; you have been my trust from my youth.

6 By you I have been sustained from the womb; you are he who took me from my mother's womb; my praise will be continually of you.

7 I am like a wonder to many, but you are my strong refuge.

8 May my mouth be filled with your praise and your glory all day long.

9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength is failing.

10 For my enemies have spoken against me, and those who watch over my soul have taken counsel together,

11 Saying, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and capture him, for there is no one to rescue him."

12 O God, do not be far from me; my God, make haste to help me.

13 May those who are adversaries of my soul be put to shame and consumed; may those who seek my harm be covered with reproach and dishonor.

14 But I will hope continually, and will praise you more and more.

15 My mouth will tell of your righteousness and your salvation all day long, though I do not know their number.

16 I will go forth in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of your righteousness, and only of your righteousness.

17 You have taught me, O God, from my youth; and hitherto I have declared your wondrous works.

18 Even now, when I am old and gray-headed, do not forsake me, O God, until I have declared your strength to this generation, your power to all who are to come.

19 Your righteousness, O God, is very high; for you have done great things. Who is like you, O God?

20 You, who have made me see many evils and afflictions, will yet revive me; you will bring me up from the depths of the earth.

21 You will increase my greatness, and you will comfort me again.

22 I will also praise you with the psaltery, and your truth, O my God; I will sing to you with the harp, O Holy One of Israel.

23 My lips will sing for joy when I sing to you, and my soul, whom you have redeemed, will sing for joy.

24 My tongue will speak of your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my harm are ashamed and confounded.

9 Não me rejeites no tempo da velhice; não me desampares, quando se for acabando a minha força.

17 Ensinaste-me, Ó Deus, desde a minha mocidade; e até aqui tenho anunciado as tuas maravilhas.

20 Tu, que me tens feito ver muitos males e angústias, me darás ainda a vida, e me tirarás dos abismos da terra.

21 Aumentarás a minha grandeza, e de novo me consolarás.

Psalm 70 In His Affliction David Prays to God to Hasten to Deliver Him

 Psalm 70

In His Affliction David Prays to God to Hasten to Deliver Him

1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me.

2 Let those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; let those who wish me harm be turned back and put to shame.

3 Let those who say, “Aha, aha!” turn their backs in shame.

4 Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; let those who love your salvation say continually, “May God be magnified.”

5 But I am poor and in need; make haste to me, O God; you are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.

1 Apressa-te, ó Deus, em me livrar; Senhor, apresa-te em ajudar-me.

Psalms 69 David's sufferings prefigure those of the Messiah

 Psalms 69

David's sufferings prefigure those of the Messiah

1 Deliver me, O God, for the waters have come in to my soul.

2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have gone into the depths of the waters, where the stream sweeps me away.

3 I am weary with crying out; my throat is dried up; my eyes fail while waiting for my God.

4 Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head; those who seek me out are mighty; they are my enemies wrongfully; then restore what I did not steal.

5 You, O God, know my foolishness; my sins are not hidden from you.

6 Let not those who wait for you be put to shame because of me, O Lord, the LORD of hosts; let not those who seek you be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.

7 For your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face.

8 I have become a stranger to my brothers, and an alien to my mother's children.

9 For zeal for your house has eaten me up, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.

10 I have wept and chastened my soul with fasting, but even this has become a reproach to me.

11 I have put on sackcloth and have become a byword to them.

12 Those who sit in the gate speak against me; I am the song of those who drink strong drink.

13 But I make my prayer to you, O Lord, in an acceptable time: O God, hear me in the multitude of your mercy, in the truth of your salvation.

14 Draw me out of the mire, and do not let me sink; let me be rescued from those who hate me, from the depths of the waters.

15 Let not the floods sweep me away, nor the deep swallow me up, nor let the pit close its mouth over me.

16 Hear me, O Lord, for your mercy is good; look upon me according to the greatness of your compassion.

17 And hide not your face from your servant, for I am in trouble; answer me quickly.

18 Draw near to my soul, and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies.

19 You know my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor; all my adversaries are before you.

20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am very faint; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

21 They gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

22 Let their table become a snare before them, and their full reward a ruin.

23 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and let their loins tremble continually.

24 Pour out your wrath upon them, and let your fierce anger take hold of them.

25 Let their palace be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents.

26 For they persecute those you have afflicted, and talk of the grief of those you have struck.

27 Add iniquity to their iniquity, and let them not come into your righteousness.

28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous.

29 But I am afflicted and sorrowful: let your salvation, O God, set me on high.

30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and magnify him with thanksgiving.

31 This will please the Lord more than an ox or a calf that has horns and hoofs.

32 The meek will see it and be glad; your hearts will live, because you seek God.

33 For the Lord hears the needy, and does not despise his captives.

34 Let the heavens and the earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moves in them.

35 For God will save Zion, and will build new cities in Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it.

36 And the seed of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell in it.
