Psalms 62
A Call to Trust in God Alone
My soul waits for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
How long will you plot evil against man? You shall all be killed; you shall be like a leaning wall and a loose fence.
They only consult how to overthrow him from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouths, but curse in their hearts.
O my soul, wait only for God, for my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before him; God is our refuge.
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie; weighed in the balances, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Do not trust in oppression, nor become vain in robbery; if your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
God has spoken once, I have heard it twice: Power belongs to God.
To you also, O Lord, belongs mercy; for you will repay each person according to his work.
