1 E sucedeu depois disto que  Davi feriu os filisteus, e os sujeitou: e Davi tomou a Mete-Gamá das mãos dos filisteus.

2 Também feriu os moabitas, e os mediu com cordel, fazendo-os deitar por terra, e os mediu com dois cordéis para os matar, e com um cordel inteiro para os deixar com vida: ficaram assim os moabitas por servos de Davi, trazendo presentes.

3 Feriu também Davi a Hadadezer, filho de Recobe, rei de Zobá, indo ele a virar a sua mão para o rio Eufrates.

4 E tomou-lhe Davi mil e seiscentos cavalheiros e vinte mil homens de pé: e Davi jarretou a todos os cavalos dos carros, e reservou deles cem carros.

5 E vieram os siros de Damasco a socorrer a Hadadezer, rei de Zobá: porém Davi feriu os siros vinte e dois mil homens.

6 E Davi pôs guarnições em Síria de Damasco, e os siros ficaram por servos de Davi, trazendo presentes: e o Senhor guardou a Davi por onde quer que ia.

7 E Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que havia com os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe a Jerusalém.

8 Tomou mais o rei Davi uma quantidade mui grande de bronze de Betá e de Berotai, cidades de Hadadezer.

9 Ouvindo então Toí, rei de Hamate, que Davi ferira a todo exército de Hadadezer.

11 Mandou Toí seu filho Jorão ao rei Davi, para lhe perguntar como estava, e para lhe dar os parabéns por haver pelejado contra Hadadezer, e os haver ferido ( porque Hadadezer de contínuo fazia guerra a Toí); e na sua mão trazia vasos de prata, e vasos de ouro, e vasos de bronze.

11 Os quais também o rei Davi consagrou ao Senhor, juntamente com a prata e ouro que já havia consagrado de todas as nações que sujeitara.

12 De Síria, e de Moabe, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e de Amaleque e dos despojos de Hadadezer, filho de Recobe rei de Zobá.

13 Também Davi ganhou nome, voltando ele de ferir os siros no vale do Sal, a saber, a dezoito mil.

14 E pôs guarnições em Edom, em todo o Edom pôs guarnições, e todos os idumeus ficaram por servos de Davi: e o Senhor ajudava a Davi por onde quer que ia.

15 Reinou pois Davi sobre todo o Israel: e Davi julgava e fazia justiça a todo seu povo.

16 E Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era sobre o exército; e Josafá, filho de Ailude, era cronista,

17 E Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aquimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes, e seraías escrivão.

18 Também Benaia filho de Joiada, estava com os quereteus e peleteus: porém os filhos de Davi eram príncipes.

2 राजा ने नातान भविष्यद्वक्ता से कहा, सुन, मैं देवदारोंके घर में रहता हूं, और परमेश्वर का सन्दूक परदोंमें बसा है।

3 नातान ने राजा से कहा, जा, और जो कुछ अपके मन में है वह सब कर; क्योंकि यहोवा तुम्हारे साथ है।

4 परन्तु उस रात ऐसा हुआ कि यहोवा का यह वचन नातान के पास पहुंचा,

David wants to build a temple to the Lord

1 And it came to pass, when king David was in his house, and that the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies round about.

2 And the king said to Nathan the prophet: Now look, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of God dwells within curtains.

3 And Nathan said unto the king, Go, and do all that is in thine heart; because the Lord is with you.

4 But it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,

5 Go and say to my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Will you build me a house for my habitation?

6 For I dwelt in no house from the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, until this day: but I walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7 And in every place where I walked with all the children of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why not build me a house of cedars?

8 Now therefore, thus shalt thou say to my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I took thee from the swath, from behind the sheep, that thou mightest be chief over my people over Israel.

9 And I went with thee, whithersoever thou hast gone, and I have destroyed thine enemies before thee: and I have made for thee a great name, as the name of the great ones that are in the land.

10 And I prepared a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their place, and be moved no more, and no more do the children of wickedness afflict them as before,

11 And from the day that I commanded that there be judges over my people Israel: but I gave thee rest to thee from all thine enemies: the LORD also hath made known that the LORD will make thee a house.

12 When thy days are full, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, then I will cause thy seed to rise up after thee from thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

13 He will build a house to my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and if he should transgress, I will punish him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men.

15 But my kindness will not depart from him; as I took it from Saul, whom I took from before thee.

16 But thy house thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be steadfast for ever.

17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

18 Then king David came in, and stood before the LORD, and said, Who am I, LORD Jehovah, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hither?

19 And this was yet little in your sight, O Lord Jehovah, but that thou also spoke of thy servant's house to times afar off: is this the custom of men, O Lord Jehovah?

20 And what more will David speak to you? For you know your servant well, O Lord Jehovah.

21 Because of thy word, and after thy heart, thou hast done all this greatness: making it known to thy servant.

22 Therefore, great art thou, O Lord Jehovah, for there is none like thee, and there is no God but thee alone, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23 And who is there like your people, like Israel, the only people in the land? whom God went to rescue for his people; and to be made a name, and to do unto you these great and terrible things, for thy land, before thy people, whom thou hast rescued from Egypt, banishing the nations and their gods.

24 And thou hast established thy people Israel for thy people forever, and thou, LORD, hast become their God.

25 Now therefore, O Lord Jehovah, this word which thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning thy house, confirm it forever, and do as thou hast spoken.

26 And may thy name be magnified for ever, that it may be said, The LORD of hosts is God over Israel; and the house of thy servant will be established before thee.

27 For thou Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed it in the ear of thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house. Therefore your servant has found it in his heart to pray this prayer to you.

28 Now therefore, O Lord Jehovah, thou art the same God, and thy words are truth, and thou hast spoken this good to thy servant.

29 Be ye therefore now to bless the house of thy servant, to remain before thee for ever, for thou, O LORD Jehovah, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing the house of thy servant shall be blessed forever.

1 E sucedeu que, estando o rei Davi em sua casa, e que o Senhor lhe tinha dado descanso de todos os seus inimigos em redor.

2 Disse o rei ao profeta Natã: Ora olha, eu moro em casa de cedros e a arca de Deus mora dentro de cortinas.

3 E disse Natã ao rei: Vai, e faze tudo quanto está no teu coração; porque o Senhor é contigo.

4 Porém sucedeu naquela mesma noite, que a palavra do Senhor veio a Natã, dizendo:

5 Vai e dize ao meu servo, a Davi: Assim diz o Senhor: Edificar-me-ias tu casa para a minha habitação?

6 Porque em casa nenhuma habitei desde o dia em que fiz subir os filhos de Israel do Egito até ao dia de hoje: mas andei em tenda e em tabernáculo.

7 E em todo o lugar em que andei com todos os filhos de Israel, falei porventura alguma palavra com qualquer das tribos de Israel, a quem mandei apascentar o meu povo de Israel, dizendo: Por  que não me edificais uma casa de cedros?

8 Agora pois, assim dirás ao meu servo, a Davi: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eu te tomei da malhada, de detrás das ovelhas, para que fosses o chefe sobre o meu povo, sobre Israel.

9 E fui contigo, por onde quer que foste, e destruí a teus inimigos diante de ti: e fiz para ti um grande nome, como o nome dos grandes que há na terra.

10 E preparei lugar para o meu povo, para Israel, e o plantarei, para que habite no seu lugar, e não mais seja movido e nunca mais os filhos da perversidade o aflijam como dantes,

11 E desde o dia em que mandei que houvesse juízes sobre o meu povo Israel: a ti porém te dei descanso de todos os teus inimigos: também o Senhor te faz saber que o Senhor te fará casa.

12 Quando teus dias forem completos, e vieres a dormir com teus pais, então farei levantar depois de ti a tua semente, que sair das tuas entranhas, e estabelecerei o seu reino.

13  Este edificará uma casa ao meu nome, e confirmarei o trono do seu reino para sempre.

14 Eu lhe serei por pai, e ele me será por filho: e, se vier a transgredir, castigá-lo-ei com vara de homens, e com açoites de filhos de homens.

15 Mas a minha benignidade se não apartará dele; como a tirei de Saul, a quem tirei de diante de ti.

16 Porém a tua casa o teu reino serão firmados para sempre diante de ti: teu trono será firme para sempre.

17 Conforme a todas estas palavras, e conforme a toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.

18 Então entrou o rei Davi, e ficou perante o Senhor, e disse: Quem sou eu, Senhor Jeová, e qual é a minha casa, que me trouxeste até aqui?

19 E ainda foi isto pouco aos teus olhos, Senhor Jeová, senão que também falaste da casa de teu servo para tempos distantes: é isto o costume dos homens, ó Senhor Jeová?

20 E que mais te falará ainda Davi? Pois tu conheces bem a teu servo, ó Senhor Jeová.

21 Por causa da tua palavra, e segundo o teu coração, fizeste toda esta grandeza: fazendo-a saber a teu servo.

22 Portanto, grandioso és, ó Senhor Jeová, porque não há semelhante a ti, e não há outro Deus senão tu só, segundo tudo o que temos ouvido com os nossos ouvidos.

24 E confirmaste a teu povo Israel por teu povo para sempre, e tu, Senhor, te fizeste a seu Deus.

25 Agora pois, ó Senhor Jeová, esta palavra que falaste acerca de teu servo e acerca da tua casa, confirma-a para sempre, e faze como tens falado.

26 E engrandeça-se o teu nome para sempre, para que se diga: O Senhor dos exércitos é Deus sobre Israel; e a casa de teu servo será confirmada diante de ti.

27 Pois tu Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, revelaste aos ouvidos de teu servo, dizendo: Edificar-te-ei casa. Portanto o teu servo achou no seu coração o fazer-te esta oração.

28 Agora pois, Senhor Jeová, tu és o mesmo Deus, e as tuas palavras são verdade, e tens falado a teu servo este bem.

1 And David again gathered together all the chosen ones of Israel, thirty thousand in number.

3 And they put the ark of God on a new chariot, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab which is in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio the sons of Abinadab; were driving the new car.

4 And taking him out of the house of Abinadab, which is in Gibeah, with the ark of God, Ahith went before the ark.

4 E Jônatas, filho de Saul, tinha um filho aleijado de ambos os pés: era da idade de cinco anos quando as novas de Saul e Jônatas vieram de Jezreel, e sua ama o tomou, e fugiu: e sucedeu que, apressando-se ela a fugir, ele caiu;  e ficou coxo; e o seu nome era Mefibosete.

5 E foram os filhos de Rimom, o beerotita, Recabe e Baena, e entraram em casa de Isbosete no maior calor do dia, estando ele deitado a dormir, ao meio-dia.

6 E ali entraram até ao meio da casa, como que vindo tomar trigo, e o feriram na quinta costela: e Recabe e Baena, seu irmão escaparam.

7 Porque entraram na sua casa, estando ele na cama deitado na sua recâmara, e o feriram e o mataram, e lhe cortaram a cabeça; e, tomando a sua cabeça, andaram toda a noite caminhando pela planície.

8 E trouxeram a cabeça de Isbosete a Davi, a Hebrom, e disseram ao rei: Eis aqui a cabeça de Isbosete, filho de Saul teu inimigo, que te procurava a morte: assim o Senhor vingou hoje ao rei meu senhor de Saul e da sua semente.

9 Porém Davi, respondendo a Recabe e a Baena, seu irmão, filho de Rimom, o beerotita, disse-lhes: Vive o Senhor que remiu a minha alma de toda a angústia,

10 Pois se àquela que me trouxe novas, dizendo: Eis que Saul morto é, parecendo-lhe porém aos seus olhos que era como quem trazia boas-novas, eu logo lancei mão dele, e o matei em Siclague, cuidando ele que eu por isso lhe desse alvíçaras;

11 Quanto mais a ímpios homens, que mataram um homem justo em sua casa, sobre a sua cama: agora pois não requereria eu o seu sangue de vossas mãos, e não vos exterminaria da terra?

12 E deu Davi ordem aos seus mancebos que os matassem: e cortaram-lhes os pés e as mãos, e os penduraram sobre o tanque de Hebrom: tomaram porém a cabeça de Isbosete, e a sepultaram na sepultura de Abner, em Hebrom.

31 तब दाऊद ने योआब और उसके संग के सब लोगोंसे कहा, अपके वस्त्र फाड़ो; और बोरे बान्ध लो, और अब्नेर के साम्हने रोओ। और राजा दाऊद ताबूत का पीछा कर रहा है।

32 और राजा ने अब्नेर को हेब्रोन में मिट्टी दी, और ऊंचे शब्द से अब्नेर की कब्र पर रोया; और सब लोग रो पड़े।

33 और राजा ने अब्नेर से रोते हुए कहा, अब्नेर मरा नहीं; खलनायक कैसे मरता है?

34 न तो तुम्हारे हाथ बंधे हुए थे, और न ही तुम्हारे पांव पीतल की बेड़ियों से लदे हुए थे, परन्तु तुम उन लोगों की नाईं गिर पड़े, जो अधर्मियों के साम्हने गिरते हैं! इसलिए सब लोग उसके लिए और भी रोए।

35 तब सब लोग दाऊद को रोटी खिलाने के लिथे आए, और दिन हो गया, परन्तु दाऊद ने शपय खाकर कहा, कि परमेश्वर मेरे लिथे ऐसा ही करे, वरन यदि सूर्य अस्त होने से पहिले मैं रोटी वा कुछ चखूं तो और भी बहुत कुछ।

36 जो कुछ लोग समझते थे, वह उनकी दृष्टि में अच्छा जान पड़ता था, जैसा कि राजा ने जो कुछ किया, वह सब लोगों को अच्छा लगा।

37 और सब लोग और सब इस्राएल उस समय समझ गए, कि नेर के पुत्र अब्नेर को घात करना राजा की ओर से नहीं।

38 तब राजा ने अपके कर्मचारियोंसे कहा, क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि आज के दिन इस्राएल में एक प्रधान और एक बड़ा पुरूष गिर पड़ा है?

39 कि मैं अभिषिक्त राजा होते हुए भी कोमल हूं; सरूयाह की सन्तान ये पुरुष मुझ से अधिक कठोर हैं: यहोवा अपराधी को उसके अधर्म का फल देगा।

David mourns Abner's death

31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Tear off your garments; and gird yourselves with sacks and go weeping before Abner. And King David is following the coffin.

32 And burying Abner in Hebron, the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

33 And the king, weeping to Abner, said, Abner is not dead; how does the villain die?

34 Your hands were not bound, nor your feet laden with shackles of brass, but you fell as those who fall before the children of iniquity! So all the people cried a lot more for him.

35 Then all the people came to make David eat bread, and it was still day, but David swore, saying, So do God for me, and so much more, if, before the sun goes down, I taste bread or something.

36 What the people understood, seemed good in their eyes, just as all that the king did, seemed good in the eyes of all the people.

37 And all the people and all Israel understood in that day that it was not of the king that they should slay Abner the son of Ner.

38 Then said the king to his servants, Know ye not that a prince and a great one have fallen in Israel this day?

39 That I am yet tender, though anointed king; these men, sons of Zeruiah, are harder than I: the Lord will pay the wrongdoer according to his wickedness.

31 Disse pois Davi a Joabe, e a todo o povo que com ele estava: Rasgai os vossos vestidos; e cingí-vos de sacos e ide pranteando diante de Abner. E o rei Davi is seguindo o féretro.

32 E, sepultando a Abner em Hebrom, o rei levantou sua voz, e chorou junto da sepultura de Abner; e chorou todo o povo.

33 E o rei, pranteando a Abner, disse: Não morreu Abner; como morre o vilão?

34 As tuas mãos não estavam atadas, nem os teus pés carregados de grilhões de bronze, mas caíste como os que caem diante dos filhos da maldade! Então todo o povo chorou muito mais por ele.

35 Então todo o povo veio fazer que Davi comesse pão, sendo ainda dia, porém Davi jurou, dizendo: Assim Deus me faça, e outro tanto, se, antes que o sol se ponha, eu provar pão ou alguma coisa.

36 O que o povo entendendo, pareceu bem aos seus olhos, assim como tudo quanto o rei fez pareceu  bem aos olhos de todo o povo.

37 E todo o povo e todo o Israel entenderam naquele mesmo dia que não procedera do rei que matassem a Abner, filho de Ner.

38 Então disse o rei aos seus servos: Não sabeis que hoje caiu em Israel um príncipe e um grande?

39 Que eu ainda sou tenro, ainda  que ungido rei; estes homens, filhos de Zeruia, são mais duros do que eu: o Senhor pagará ao malfeitor, conforme a sua maldade.

22 और देखो, दाऊद के सेवक और योआब एक खेमे में से निकलकर अपने साथ बड़ी लूट ले आए; और अब्नेर दाऊद के साथ हेब्रोन में न रहा, क्योंकि उस ने उसको विदा किया था, और कुशल से चला गया था।

23 जब योआब और उसके संग आने वाली सारी सेना आई, तब उन्होंने योआब से कहा, नेर का पुत्र अब्नेर राजा के पास आया है; और उसे विदा किया, और कुशल से चला गया।

24 तब योआब राजा के पास गया, और कहा, तू ने क्या किया है? अब्नेर तेरे पास आया; फिर तुमने क्यों खारिज कर दिया, ताकि वह स्वतंत्र रूप से चला जाए?

25 तुम नेर के पुत्र अब्नेर को अच्छी तरह से जानते हो, जो तुम्हें धोखा देने आया था, और तुम्हारे जाने और तुम्हारे भीतर जाने को जानता था, और जो कुछ तुम करते हो उसे समझते हो।

26 और योआब ने दाऊद के पास से निकलकर अब्नेर के पीछे दूत भेजे, और वे उसे दाऊद के जाने बिना सीरा के कुएं से लौटा ले आए।

27 सो जब अब्नेर हेब्रोन को लौटा, तब योआब उस से गुप्त बातें करने को फाटक के द्वार पर अकेला ले गया, और वहां पांचवीं पसली के पास ऐसा मारा, कि वह अपके भाई असाहेल के लोहू के कारण मर गया।

28 यह सुनकर दाऊद ने कहा, मैं नेर के पुत्र अब्नेर के लोहू के कारण से यहोवा के लिथे सदा निर्दोष हूं, और अपके राज्य के लिथे मैं निर्दोष हूं।

29 वह योआब और उसके पिता के सारे घराने का अधिकारी हो, और योआब के घराने में किसी को कोई घटी न हो, और न कोढ़ी, और न तलवार से मारा जाए, और न किसी को रोटी की घटी हो।

30 इसलिथे योआब और उसके भाई अबीशै ने अब्नेर को घात किया, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपके भाई असाहेल को गिबोन के युद्ध में घात किया था।
