 II Samuel 05

The sons of David who were born in Jerusalem

13 And David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he came from Hebron: and to David were born more sons and daughters.

14 And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Sammua, and Shebab, and Nathan, and Solomon.

15 And Ibar, and Elishua, and Noph, and Japhia,

16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.

17 When the Philistines heard, who had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: he who heard David went down to the stronghold.

18 And the Philistines came, and spread out over the valley of Rephaim.

19 And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? will we deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said unto David, Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

20 Then David came to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken my enemies before me, as one breaking water. Hence he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

21 And they left their idols there; and David and his men took them.

22 And the Philistines went up again, and spread out over the valley of Rephaim.

23 And David inquired of the Lord, who said, Thou shalt not go up; but go around behind them, and you will come to them from before the mulberry trees.

24 And it shall come to pass, that when thou hearest a roar of march through the tops of the mulberry trees, then thou shalt hasten; for then the LORD went forth before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.

25 And David did just as the Lord had commanded him; and he smote the Philistines from Gibeah, even to Gezer.
