II Samuel 06
David brings the ark to Jerusalem
And David again gathered together all the chosen ones of Israel, thirty thousand in number.
And David arose, and departed with all the people that he had with him from Baalim of Judah, to carry the ark of God up thence, upon whom the name is called, the name of the LORD of hosts, which sitteth among the cherubs.
And they put the ark of God on a new chariot, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab which is in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio the sons of Abinadab; were driving the new car.
And taking him out of the house of Abinadab, which is in Gibeah, with the ark of God, Ahith went before the ark.
And David, and all the house of Israel, rejoiced before the LORD, with all instruments of beechwood: as with harps, and with psalters, and with tambourines, and with tambourines, and with cymbals.
And when he came to the floor of Nachom, Uzzah stretched out his hand to the ark of God, and had a hand in it; because the oxen let it hang.
Then the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his imprudence: and he died there by the ark of God.
And David was constricted, because the LORD had made a breach in Uzzah; and he called that place Perez-Uzah, to this day.
And David feared the LORD that day; and he said, How will the ark of the Lord come to me?
And David would not take the ark of the LORD for himself into the city of David; but David had it brought to the house of Obededom the Gittite.
And the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his house.
And they warned David, saying, The LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he hath, for the ark of God: So David went, and brought up the ark of God out of the house of Obededom, to the city of David with joy.
And it came to pass, when they were leading them to the ark of the LORD, that they had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted rams.
And David leapt with all his might before the LORD: and David was girded with a linen ephod.
So David and all Israel going up, they carried the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpets.
And it came to pass, when the ark of the LORD entered the city of David Michal the daughter of Saul, that she was looking out of the window: and when she saw king David dancing and leaping before the LORD, she despised him in her heart.
And bringing in the ark of the LORD, they set it in its place, in the tent which David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.
And he distributed to all the people, and to all the multitude of Israel, from men to women, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of meat, and a flask of wine: then all was gone. people, each to his house.
And when David returned to bless his house, Michal the daughter of Saul went out to meet David, and said, How honored was the king of Israel, that he is uncovered today in the sight of his servants' handmaids, as without pejo if you discover any of the strays.
And David said to Michal, Before the LORD, who chose me rather than thy father, and all his house, commanding me to be head over the LORD's people, over Israel: before the LORD I have rejoiced .
And even more than this I will debase myself, and humble myself in my sight: and of the handmaids of whom you spoke, of them I will be honored.
And Michal the daughter of Saul had no children, until the day of her death.
