I kings 3
Solomon marries Pharaoh's daughter
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt: and he took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had finished building his house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Only that the people sacrificed on the high places: because until those days no house had been built to the name of the Lord.
And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father; only that on the high places he sacrificed, and burned incense.
And the king of Gibeon went there to sacrifice, because that was the great high place; a thousand burnt offerings Solomon sacrificed on that altar.
And in Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God says to him: Ask for whatever you want to give you.
And Solomon said, Thou hast shown great kindness to Thy servant David my father, as he also walked with Thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart, before Thy face: and Thou hast kept for him this great kindness, and hast you gave a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
Now therefore, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king in the place of David my father: and I am but a little child; I don't even know how to get out or how to get in.
And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people that cannot be counted or numbered for multitude.
Give thy servant therefore an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and evil: for who is able to judge this great people?
And the word seemed good in the eyes of the LORD, that Solomon should ask this thing.
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked riches for thyself, neither hast asked the life of thine enemies: but thou hast asked understanding for thyself, to hear causes and judgment;
Behold, I have done according to your words: behold, I have given you a heart so wise and understanding, that before you your equal there was not, and after you your equal shall not arise.
I have also given you what you did not ask for, both riches and glory, so that there may not be your equal among kings all your days.
And if you walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as David your father walked, I will also prolong your days.
And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and sacrificed burnt offerings, and prepared peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
