David hides in the cave of Adullam

1 Then David left there, and escaped to the cave of Adullam: and his brothers and all his father's house heard him, and went down there for him.

2 And he was joined by the man who was close by, and every man in debt, and every man of disgusted spirit, and he became their leader: and there were about four hundred men with him.

3 And David went from there to the Mizpah of the Moabites, and said to the king of the Moabites, Let my father and mother be with you, until I know what God is going to do with me.

4 And he brought them before the king of Moab, and they stayed with him all the days that David was in the strong place.

5 But the prophet Gad said to David, Do not stay in that strong place; go, and enter the land of Judah. Then David went, and came to the forest of Chereth.
